BOLIVAR, Mo. – The University of Central Missouri cross country teams competed in the Southwest Baptist University Bearcat Cross Country Open on Friday, Oct. 21, at the Bolivar City Municipal Golf Course.
The Mules finished in fourth place with a total time of 2:14:00.82 earning 76 points overall highlighted by two top-five finishers in the 8k including
Paul Korir (first place overall, time of 25:30.09) and
Brian Mitei (time of 26:00.26, fourth place overall).
Rounding out the scoring for Central Missouri was
Delfino Juarez (20
th place, time of 27:13.82),
Luke Engel (time of 27:30.10, 29
th place finish), and
Justin Glastetter (35
th place finish, time of 27:46.55) respectively.
On the women's side, the Jennies finished in fifth place as a team with a total time of 1:40:23.89, led by two top-six finishers in
Risper Mengich (fifth place overall, time of 19:13.02) and
Katie Bean (time of 19:15.85, sixth place finish) who ran a personal-best time in the 5k.
Chloee Belgum (22
nd place finish, time of 20:12.67),
Lilly Geelan (36
th place finish, time of 20:48.81), and
Rylee Adams (time of 20:53.54, 38
th place finish) concluded the scoring for Central Missouri.
The next meet for both teams is on Saturday, Nov. 5, for the MIAA Championships in Joplin, Mo. at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course.
