COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Central Missouri Cross Country teams competed at the Brian T. Simpson Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11, from the Gans Creek Cross Country Course on the campus of The University of Missouri-Columbia.
The Mules finished runner-up, scoring 77 points, while the Jennies finished fifth with 145 points.
The Mules posted five top-20 finishers in the 8k race, including a pair of top-10 placers in sophomore
Jaise Bardwell (26.19.71) in third place and Waynesville, Mo. native
Alejandro Malave (26:45.85) in seventh place.
Junior
Kollin Tidman posted a time of 26:54.04, good enough for 12th place, while Stockton, Mo. native
Colby Adams finished in 18th position at 27:08.23. Junior
Sam Mathis rounded out the scoring for UCM with a 42nd-place finish in 27:53.94.
For the Jennies, freshman
Marianna Bizon was the individual winner, finishing the 5k race with a time of 18:50.29, while fellow freshman
Madison Cross ran a personal-best mark of 20:13.08 for a 26th-place finish.
California, Mo. native
Kenzleigh Goans posted a time of 20:42.9, good enough for a 35th place finish, plus
Daniella Gonzalez placed 54
th with a time of 21:24.16, while
Kayli Cameron rounded out the scoring for the Jens in 67
th position in 21:58.8.
Central Missouri Cross Country returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 25, for the MIAA Championships, beginning at 9:30 a.m. from the Four Oaks Golf Course in Pittsburg, Kan.
