Mules and Jennies Track and Field Keeps Rolling at Indoor Mule Relays

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Missouri Mules and Jennies track and field combined to win 16 events and tally seven NCAA Division II provisional marks at the annual Indoor Mule Relays Saturday, Jan. 29, inside the Multipurpose Building.

Central Missouri is scheduled to travel to Maryville, Mo., to compete in the Bearcat Invitational Feb. 4-5.

Jumps/Vault
  • Junior Madi Wulfekotter posted the second-best vault in the country and in indoor program history Saturday, clearing an NCAA-II provisional height of 4.12m (13-06.25). Sophomore Molly Greene finished third, clearing 3.55m (11-07.75), which is an indoor personal-best and seventh-best all-time.
  • In the men's pole vault, sophomore Reagan Ulrich cleared a provisional height of 5.13m (16-10.00) on his way to a first-place finish. Ulrich's height ranks third highest in NCAA-II and tied for seventh-best in program history. Jack Hodge also cleared a provisional mark, finishing second at 4.77m (15-07.75). The Mules also claimed third, fourth and fifth place in the pole vault, with Trent Davis taking third (personal-best 4.47m – 14-08.00), Josiah Crooks fourth (4.27m – 14-0) and Trey Miller fifth (4.27m – 14-0).
  • Hannah VanBuskirk won the women's long jump, jumping 5.38m (17-08.00), while Austin Staib claimed the men's long jump title with a distance of 6.71m (22-00.25). Carter Bell took third in the event with a distance of 6.64m (21-09.50).
  • Cade Conley placed third in the high jump, clearing 1.90m (6-02.75).
Throws
  • Senior Ashlan Burton captured the women's shot-put title, posting a provisional throw of 15.59m (51-01.75). Her throw ranks second-best in the country and third-highest all-time. She also finished runner-up in the weight throw, posting a distance of 16.90m (55-05.50).
  • Redshirt sophomore Addison Snowball won the men's shot-put, throwing a personal-best and provisional distance of 16.95m (55-07.50), which is 18th highest in NCAA Division II and 10th-best in program history. Snowball finished second in the weight throw with a throw of 18.18m (59-07.75).
  • Redshirt sophomore Rachael Molloy won the women's weight throw, tallying a distance of 17.53m (57-06.25), which is sixth-best all-time.
  • Sophomore Abby Vogel was third in the weight throw with a personal-best 15.99m (52-05.50).
Multi-Events
  • Sophomore Liberty Brown won the pentathlon, tallying a personal-best 3,047 points. Brown ran 9.19 in the 60m hurdles and 2:33.99 in the 800, cleared 1.40m (4-07.00) in the high jump, posted a mark of 4.97m (16-03.75) in the long jump and compiled a throw of 9.08m (29-09.50) in the shot-put.
  • Freshman Caleb Distler finished fourth in the heptathlon with 4,054 points.
Sprints/Hurdles
  • Senior Jathan Deberry won the men's 60m hurdles with a provisional time of 8.17. That time is tied for 28th-best in the country. Parker Wormek was second in the hurdles at 8.25.
  • Senior Laia Gonzalez captured the women's 60m hurdles title with a time of 8.94. Hannah VanBuskirk was third at 9.02.
  • Sophomore Antonio Lay won the men's 60m dash with a provisional time of 6.85. That ranks tied for 35th-best in NCAA Division II and tied for ninth-best in program history.
  • Freshman Michael James was first in the men's 400m dash with a personal-best time of 49.92. Ethan Brickman was third with a personal-best 50.71.
  • Emily Sporleder led the Jennies in the women's 400m, finishing third at 1:01.55.
  • Sophomore Lenetta Lee won the 200m dash at 25.71.
Distance
  • The Mules went 1-2-3 in the mile. Junior Alex Kirk was first with a personal-best time of 4:19.46, while Paul Korir was second at 4:21.45 (personal-best) and Aaron Westhoff was third at 4:25.25.
  • Central Missouri went 2-3 in the women's mile, with Cynthia Togom placing second with a time of 5:17.26 and Katie Bean third at 5:18.37.
  • UCM finished first and second in the men's 600-yard run. Sophomore Isaak Rasche placed first with a personal-best 1:15.80, and freshman Evan Finger was runner-up at 1:16.92 (personal-best).
  • Senior Mariah Elmore won the women's 800m run, posting a time of 2:20.28 while freshman Lilly Geelan placed third with a personal-best 2:27.77.
  • Emma Bassford led the Jennies in the 3,000m run, placing third with a personal-best 11:25.73.
