Fan Information
• Masks are highly recommended for all spectators in the Multipurpose Building.
• Spectators will NOT be allowed on the lower level of the arena. All spectators must sit in the upper seating area on the north side of the building.
Admission
• Friday admission is FREE.
• Saturday admission is
FREE UNTIL 12 p.m., then, the following admission prices will become active: $5 for adults; $4 for seniors (age 60+); $3 for visiting college students & youth (ages 6-18); active military (with ID), UCM students (with ID) & children under six are free.
Meet Notes
• Going into the meet, the Mules have 10 NCAA-II provisional qualifying marks while the Jennies have five.
• The UCM Invitational will mark Central Missouri's fourth meet of the 2021-22 Indoor Season. UCM competed in the Crimson and Gold Invitational Dec. 4 in Pittsburg, Kan., the Happy Holidays Multi Dec. 11-12 in Crete, Neb. And the UCM Invitational Jan. 21 in Warrensburg.
• The MIAA preseason coaches' poll picked the Jennies to defend their 2020-21 MIAA Indoor Championship while the Mules were voted third.
Mules Sixth in First USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field Rating Index
Central Missouri Mules track and field is sixth in the first United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Rating Index (TFRI) release Tuesday, Jan. 25, by the organization.
The rankings are a point system based on season-best qualifying marks for individuals and relays.Teams earn points by their respective athletes and relays places in the national rankings.
Grand Valley State sits at No. 1 in the first rankings, while Ashland is second. MIAA foe Pittsburg State is third, followed by Lee (Tenn.) in fourth. Fellow MIAA member Fort Hays State is right in front of the Mules in fifth, rounding out the top-five.
Other MIAA men's track and field teams in the first set of rankings include Nebraska Kearney (No. 10), Lincoln (No. 23) and Missouri Southern (No. 24).
Burton Voted MIAA Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Central Missouri Jennies track and field senior thrower
Ashlan Burton was voted the MIAA Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for her performance in the throwing cage during the week of Jan. 16-23, the conference office announced Tuesday, Jan. 25.
It's her third-career athlete of the week honor.
Burton, who hails from Urbandale, Iowa, won the women's shot put and tossed an NCAA Division II provisional throw of 15.23m (49-11.75) at the UCM Invitational Friday, Jan. 21. Burton's mark ranks second in all of NCAA Division II so far this season and fourth in program history.
She also competed in the weight throw, finishing second to teammate
Rachael Molloy with a throw of 16.35m (53-7.75).
Last Time Out
University of Central Missouri Mules and Jennies track and field had a combined 23 first-place finishers and nine NCAA-II provisional marks set at the UCM Invitational – the first home meet for Central Missouri of the 2021-22 indoor season -- Friday, Jan. 21, inside the Multipurpose Building.
Jumps
- Central Missouri had the top finishers in both the men's and women's pole vault. On the men's side, Vincent Hobbie finished first with an NCAA-II provisional vault of 5.10m (16-8.75) which ranks eighth in UCM history. For the Jennies, Madi Wulfekotter placed first and posted an NCAA-II provisional mark of 3.85m (12-7.5). Her 12-7.5 vault ranks sixth on the indoor pole vault record charts for the Jennies. Cassie Jennings finished third for Central Missouri also compiled a division II provisional mark with her vault of 3.70m (12-1.5). That mark is seventh all-time.
- Hannah VanBuskirk won the high jump, jumping a provisional qualifying height of 1.68m (5-6).
- UCM captured both the men's and women's long jump titles. Christopher Goodwin and Trey Miller went 1-2 on the men's side while Camryn Holloman placed first for the Jennies. Goodwin jumped a provisional mark of 7.42m (24-4.25) while Miller jumped 7.10m (23-3.5). Goodwin's distance is sixth all-time. Holloman jumped 5.55m (18-2.5) enroute to her first-place finish.
- The Mules and Jennies took first in the triple jump, as well. Maggie Klover jumped 11.02m (36-2) for first on the women's side while Carter Bell recorded a jump of 13.57m (44-62.5) to win on the men's side.
Throws
- Ashlan Burton won the shot put and posted an NCAA-II provisional mark of 15.23m (49-11.75). Her throw is the top mark in NCAA-II so far this season and ranks fourth in program history.
- Rachael Molloy and Burton finished first and second in the weight throw. Molloy claimed top honors with a throw of 16.80m (55-1.5) while Burton was second after a mark of 16.35m (53-7.75). Molloy's throw is eighth on the indoor all-time records list while Burton's is right behind her in ninth.
- Addison Snowball won the men's weight throw after launching a provisional and personal best mark of 18.64m (61-2). His throw is 10th all-time. He also finished second in the shot put with a throw of 15.77m (51-9).
Hurdles/Sprints
- The Jennies swept the top-three places in the 60m hurdles, as Laia Gonzalez finished first, Hannah VanBuskirk second and Liberty Brown third. Gonzalez ran 8.91 while VanBuskirk clocked a time of 9.24 and Brown tallied a mark of 9.39.
- Jathan Deberry won the 60m hurdles for the Mules after tallying a provisional and personal best time of 8.16. Parker Wormek finished third for Central Missouri with a time of 8.42, respectively.
- Antonio Lay captured the 60m dash title, clocking a provisional time of 6.81, which tied for fourth all-time. Cameron Hesker was third for UCM, running 6.89.
- UCM went 2-3 in the 60m dash on the women's side, with Lucy Steinmeyer placing second at 7.75 and Camryn Holloman third at 7.92.
- In the 200m dash, Grace Wormek and Lenetta Lee went 1-2 for the Jennies, with Wormek taking first at 26.20 and Lee finishing second at 26.31.
- Central Missouri claimed both first and second in the women's 400m dash. Jana Shawver won with a personal best time of 58.55 while Laia Gonzalez finished second at 1:00.21.
- Lucy Steinmeyer and Alex Foote' went 1-2 for the Jennies in the 600-yard run. Steinmeyer clocked a personal best of 1:27.13 for first place and Foote was second at 1:28.30.
- Emily Sporleder ran a personal best 2:25.08 on the way to winning the 800m run for the Jennies.
- The Mules had two top-three placers in the 800, with Evan Finger finishing second at 2:00.96 and Calvin Wagoner third at 2:03.16.
Distance
- Cynthia Togom and Lilian Busienei finished first and second in the 3,000m run for the Jennies, tallying times of 10:47.64 and 10:58.51.
- Derek Nugent won the mile for the Mules, clocking a time of 4:26.28 while Alex Kirk and Paul Korir went 1-2 in the 3,000m run for Central Missouri. Kirk ran 8:38.68 and Korir posted a time of 8:38.78.
- Mariah Elmore and Tabby Boldt finished second and third in the mile for the Jennies, clocking times of 5:18.39 and 5:32.68.
