Jennies Volleyball Slips Past Emporia In Five

EMPORIA, Kan. (March 24, 2021) - Central Missouri Jennies Volleyball started their road trip Tuesday night in Emporia, Kan. The Jennies were in for a battle but were up to the task, defeating the Hornets in five sets, 25-20, 22-25, 25-14, 20-25, 15-13.

The Jennies hit 15 kills in the first set, their most in any of the five as they got on top 1-0. The Hornets responded with a close 25-22 set win to tie the match at one game apiece. The largest set win was in the third when UCM won 25-14. The Jennies couldn't put the Hornets away as they won set four 25-20 to force a fifth. That fifth set came down to the wire as UCM prevailed 15-13.

Kersit Nix led the Jennies with 22 kills and came up with 12 digs. Audrey Fisher and Hannah Engelken each finished with 10+ kills in the match. UCM rotaated setters with Ally Offerdahl getting 27 assists and Chandler Vaughan 24. Jackie Storm led the defense with 24 digs. 

Central Missouri is back in action Thursday, March 25 to take on Missouri Southern in Joplin.
