Jennies Volleyball Sweep Pitt State on Senior Day

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The (Receiving Votes) Central Missouri Jennies (20-7, 11-5 MIAA) swept the Pittsburg State Gorillas (13-14, 6-10 MIAA), winning 25-18, 27-25, 25-19, Saturday, Nov. 15, from Dr. Peggy Martin Court, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.     
 
Central Missouri took the opening set 25-18, highlighted by four kills from senior Rachel Ziesman (nine kills, two blocks, two digs overall) and Sedalia, Mo. native Emma Siron (13 kills, 11 digs, and two blocks).
 
With a tied score at 25 in the second frame, the Jens doubled their advantage with back-to-back kills from Ziesman, before completing their 13th sweep of the season, highlighted by five kills from Parkville, Mo. native Shaye Koski (match-high 14 kills and two blocks overall).
 
Defensively, Central Missouri was led in the back row by redshirt senior Grace Winkelmann's match-high 21 digs and six assists, while Owasso, Okla. native Kirsten Harper collected 12 digs and freshman Ragin Corwin had four digs in the winning effort.
 
Middle blocker Kaelyn McDonald contributed six kills, three blocks, and three digs, plus senior Kayla Baer (match-best 38 assists and nine kills overall) and Stilwell, Kan., Grace Wagers had three kills each.

After the conclusion of the match, the Jens honored four seniors in a ceremony on the court, recognizing Kersti Nix, Kayla Baer, Rachel Ziesman, and Grace Winkelmann for their contributions to the program. 
 
No. 6 Central Missouri will take on No. 3 Washburn Ichabods (24-3, 13-3 MIAA), in the opening round of the 2025 MIAA Volleyball Championships, Thursday, Nov. 20, at 2:30 p.m., inside the St. Joseph Civic Arena in downtown St. Joseph, Mo.
