• Central Missouri looks to stay hot this week as they take on William Jewell and Southwest Baptist, both at home.
• The games against William Jewell were originally scheduled for February 27.
• Last week the Jennies went 5-1 with MIAA wins over Missouri Southern and then went 3-1 against teams from the Northern Sun at the Emporia State Softball Classic which was moved from St. Joseph, Mo.
• The Jennies have won six of their last seven and have started out MIAA play at 3-1 and are fourth in the MIAA standings.
• Central Missouri was picked to finish third in the 2019 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll. The Jennies tallied 141 points in the poll.
• 2019 will mark the 48th season of Jennies softball. It will also be the 13th season under the direction of Head Coach
Susan Anderson.

Anderson vs. the Competition
• Central Missouri has stuggled of late against William Jewell, especially last year. The Cardinals won three straight games against the Jennies in 2018, four straight overall and Coach Anderson is 4-5 against them in her career. Against the Bearcats though, the Jennies have had a considerable amount of success under Coach Anderson with a 23-9 record. The Jennies lead the all-time series 84-22, but the Bearcats have won three of the last five meetings, including one in the MIAA Tournament in 2017.
Last Time Out
• It was a big week for the Jennies who went 5-1 including a pair of MIAA wins over Missouri Southern. The Jennies set a new club record for home runs in a game hitting five in an 8-4 win over St. Cloud State. The Jennies also defeated Minnesota State and Sioux Falls at the Emporia Softball Classic last weekend.

MIAA Leaders

Hailey Crabtree is in the top-10 in both slugging percentage (.694) and on base percentage (.488).

Makenzie McAtee is 10th hitting .412 and sixth with a .515 on base percentage.

Ashlyn Cook are second and third in the MIAA in stolen bases with 13 and 12 respectively.
• Now that she has enough innings to qualify,
Gentry Wishard leads the MIAA with a 0.90 ERA and .212 batting average against.
Three's Company
• With 10 triples, the Jennies are third in the MIAA.

Hailey Crabtree's six three-baggers also lead the MIAA. She is already tied for the fifth most triples in a single season in team history.
Leading Off
• The Jennies have a done a great job leading off innings this season. The leadoff hitters are reaching base 45.3% of the time.
Makenzie McAtee has done so in 12 of 18 leadoff apperances and leadoff hitter
Lauryn Deer is 18 for 35.
• UCM is also starting games off strong. They have scored 23 first inning runs and at least one in the first inning of their last four games. The Jennies are 9-3 this season when scoring in the first inning and 12-4 when scoring first.

• Central Missouri set a new team record last week for home runs in a game with five.

• The Jennies have hit 14 home runs this season and eight have come from freshmen.

Who's Hot
• The Jennies pitchers have been red hot, especially
Alexa Bradley and
Gentry Wishard. Bradley allowed just one earned run in 20 innings pitched last week and didn't issue a single walk. She went 3-0 with a 0.35 ERA and 13 strikeouts.
• Wishard is seeing more and more action. Last week she threw 15.2 innings with a 0.45 ERA, giving up two runs, one earned with eight strikeouts.

Makenzie McAtee hit .588 with 10 hits in 17 at bats. She hit two home runs and drove in five runs.
•
Jessica Sader drove in nine runs in six games last week and hit .375.
•
Lauryn Deer has six stolen bases in her last six games and
Ashlyn Cook is right behind with four steals.
Up Next
• The Jennies will play three doubleheaders next week. Wednesday, they will be on the road at Drury to take on the Panthers, before coming home four MIAA doubleheaders against Washburn and Emporia State. Emporia State on April 6 will be Military Appreciation Day.
Scouting the Opposition
William Jewell Cardinals (13-9, 4-4 MIAA)
• William Jewell comes to Warrensburg with a 13-9 record. They are 4-4 in GLVC play.
• They recently lost a six game winning streak when dropped a pair of one-run games to the Drury Panthers last weekend.
• As a team the Cardinals are hitting .292 with 12 home runs.
• They are led by Courtney Beatty who's started all 22 games and is hitting better than .400 at a .429 clip. She's slugging .614 and reaching base in 48.8% of her plate appearances. Beatty also leads the team with 17 runs batted in.
• Sarah Lewis' three home runs are a team-best. They've hit 12 home runs on the season and given up 16. Lindsay Glynn is the other Cardinal with multiple home runs this season.
• On the bases, William Jewell is 24-25 in stolen base attempts. Gynn leads the team and is a perfect 8-8 in her attempts.
• With a .975 fielding percentage, the Cardinals are one of the better fielding teams in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
• The Cardinals have a pair of veteran pitchers who have started 19 of 22 games. Anna Biondo has made 10 starts and is 5-5 with a 4.06 ERA and 49 strikeouts.
• Madelynne Greenstreet has started nine times and leads the team with 52 strikeouts. She's 5-2 with a 4.23 ERA.
Southwest Baptist (3-20, 0-0 MIAA)
• Southwest Baptist is yet to play a conference game this season. They are 3-20 over and 0-8 on the road this season.
• At the plate, SBU is hitting just .212. Paige St. Pierre is the team's leading hitter with 17 hits in 64 at bats. She carries a .266 batting average.
• The Bearcats have hit just one home run this season, that was by Kori Hillenburg. Her and Megan Schellert lead the team with seven RBI each.
• Maddie Massanelli and Kaylee Schmidli each have 10 starts in the circle. Both are also 1-8 on the season.
• As a team, the Bearcats have a 6.69 ERA while opposing pitcher's ERA is 2.04.
