EMPORIA, Kan. – The fifth-seeded Central Missouri Jennies (33-18, 14-10 MIAA) fell to the four-seeded Emporia State Hornets (29-17, 14-8 MIAA), by a final score of 7-0 on Thursday, May 7, during the 2026 MIAA Softball Championship Quarterfinal, from Turnbull Field at the Trusler Sports Complex in Emporia, Kan.
Prior to first pitch, the MIAA conference held a ceremony to congratulate the six Jens to earn All-MIAA accolades, including
Bailey Brumley (First Team - Utility),
Marisa Johnson (First Team - Designated Player),
Taylor Thompson (Second Team - Catcher),
Lexi Blackmon (Third Team - Outfielder),
Andi Siebeneck (Honorable Mention - Pitcher), and
Kyrsten Moran (Honorable Mention - Outfielder).
The Hornets opened the scoring with five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, before adding a pair of insurance runs in the fifth en route to victory as they'll take on the top-seeded Missouri Southern Lions in the Semifinals.
Brumley (11-6) suffered the loss in the circle, while Moran, Thompson, and senior
Jadyn Sheffield recorded a hit in the ballgame, pacing the Jens offensively.
