LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 3, 2019) - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released their 2019 scholar teams and scholar athletes, honoring Central Missouri Softball as a Top-25 Division II Scholar Team. Along with the team recognition, 16 Jennies made the individual NFCA All-American Scholar Athletes list.
In order for a team to qualify, they must hold a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Individuals must maintain a cumulative GPA od 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale and completed at least two semesters at their institution. A new NFCA record of over 8,000 student athletes were named 2019 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes.
As a team, the Jennies accumulated a GPA of 3.539 which put them tied 24th in Division II among the 87 teams that qualified. Not only was UCM the highest MIAA competitor on the list, the Jennies also had more individuals make the list than any other team in the league.
