The Series• The Mules lead the all-time series with Southwest Baptist 97-12-1, including a 3-2 mark under

• UCM won the first meeting this season, 5-1, last Wednesday in Warrensburg.
• The teams split a four-game series last year in Bolivar. The Bearcats won the first two games of the series 6-5 and 6-2 with the Mules capturing the last two games 6-1 and 11-6.

Saving his way in to the record books• With his save on Sunday against Missouri Southern,
Grant Gavin moved in to a tie for ninth place on the UCM single-season saves list with seven and in to a tie for 10th place on the career saves list with 10.
• His next save will move him in to a tie for sixth on the single-season list (8) and ninth on the career list (11).
Streaking Mules• During his current 13-game hitting streak,
Bennett Oliver is batting .426 with nine extra-base hits, including five home runs, and 12 RBI. He's slugging .851 and has a .472 on-base percentage.
• During that same span,
Derek Cornell is hitting .390 with a pair of home runs and a .537 on-base percentage; and
Dylan Farrell has three home runs and 10 RBI.

Bennett Oliver hit a walk-off home run leading off the 10th inning and 16th-ranked Central Missouri rallied for a 5-4 win over Missouri Southern on Sunday afternoon at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field. With the win, the Mules win the series 2-1.
   Leading off the 10th, Oliver hit an 0-1 pitch deep over the wall in right to send the Mules (25-10, 23-5 MIAA) and fans in to a frenzy and capped a late comeback by the Mules. The Mules had tied the game in the bottom of the ninth inning to force extras.
Blake Wilfong singled to right with one out and with the Mules down to their final out, scored on
Dylan Farrell's double off the wall in right center.
   The Lions (26-13, 16-12 MIAA) jumped on top 1-0 in the first inning. Chris Hoffman tripled to right and later scored on a wild pitch. Missouri Southern pushed the lead to 3-0 in the third inning on Jesse Rall's two-run home run.
   UCM got on the board in the fourth when
Matt Safranek singled home
Jake Alexander to make it 3-1. MSSU pushed the lead back to three in the sixth on Danny Biggs' RBI single to center.
   The Mules kept fighting back and plated two more runs in the sixth to pull within a run.
Miles Orscheln had an RBI single to left and Safranek added an RBI sac bunt to get the Mules within striking distance for the ninth.

Carlos D'Armas allowed four runs on nine hits over six innings. He struck out a season-high 12 batters.
   Kyle McCulloch (2-1) took the loss for Missouri Southern, allowing two runs on five hits over 3.2 innings. Starter Zach Litchen allowed three runs on four hits in 5.1 innings.

UCM during the Crookes era•
Kyle Crookes has a 55-32 (.632) record in his second season as head coach at Central Missouri.
• The Mules went 30-22 during Crookes' first season as head coach. Ten Mules earned All-MIAA honors, including First Team honors for outfielder
Trevor Jones, who went on to earn Second Team All-Region honors as well.
• The Mules were 71-29 in Crookes' two seasons as an assistant coach and captured the 2014 MIAA Regular Season Championship. The Mules garnered five First Team All-MIAA selections and three All-America honors during his two years as an assistant.
• Crookes compiled a 292-164 overall record in eight seasons as the head coach at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College before taking over as an assistant coach at UCM.

Mules Baseball: Winningest Team of the 2000s• The Central Missouri baseball program has had unprecedented success in the last 25 years and has been even more impressive since the year 2000. The Mules were the winningest team in all divisions of the NCAA by victories (508) and percentage (.814, 508-116) from 2000-09. That success has continued through the 2010s.
• The Mules are 783-207 (.791) since the year 2000. An average of 46 wins per season over the last 17 years.
A Tradition of Excellence in Athletics• Entering the 2015-16 academic year, Central Missouri had won a combined 205 MIAA regular season conference championships in 14 league sports to lead all schools.
• Last season, UCM captured five MIAA regular season titles, and three MIAA Tournament crowns.
