• Central Missouri is coming off an 82-75 loss at 23rd-ranked Arkansas-Fort Smith on Saturday night that dropped the Mules to 2-1 on the season.
• The Mules were picked to finish ninth in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll.

• Eleven different players scored in double figures for the Mules in 2015-16 and six of those players return to the squad this year.

Marquiez Lawrence recorded six double-doubles last year. He was the only UCM player to record a double-double during the season.

Spencer Reaves is UCM's top returning scorer this year after averaging 12.3 points per game a season ago. He scored in double figures 19 times last season, including three 20-point performances and a career-high 33 points against Pittsburg State.
• So far this season, six different players have scored in double figures for the Mules with
Spencer Reaves scoring at least 20 points in two of UCM's three games.
SERIES HISTORY
• This will be the seventh all-time meeting between the Mules and Harris-Stowe State. UCM has won all six of the previous meetings.
• The last meeting was a 114-80 UCM win in Warrensburg at the beginning of the 2000-01 season.
• All six meetings have taken place in Warrensburg.
LAST MEETING WITH HARRIS-STOWE STATE
• The Mules beat the Hornets 114-80 in the third game of the 2000-01 season under then-head coach Don Doucette.
• The Mules finished 12-15 overall that season and 7-11 in MIAA play.
SCOUTING HARRIS-STOWE
• The Hornets enter the game, which is an exhibition game for them, at 2-4 overall after a 74-69 home loss to Williams Baptist on Saturday. HSSU has lost four straight games after starting the season 2-0.
• Harris-Stowe State is led by first year head coach Brion Dunlap.
• The Hornets are averaging 69.0 points per game, but giving up 72.2 per contest. They are shooting 42.3 percent from the floor, but just 25.8 percent from three-point range.
• Opponents are shooting just 38.4 percent from the field against HSSU and 36.1 percent from beyond the arc.
• Jalen Fletcher leads the Hornets in scoring at 20.8 points per game. He is shooting 50.5 percent from the field, but just 27 percent from three-point range. he also leads the team in rebounding at 7.2 boards per contest.
• Two other players are averaging in double figures with Fletcher. Michael Gregg scores 10.5 per game and Tyrone Alston chips in 10.3 per contest.
• The Hornets are out-rebounding their opponents by almost nine boards per game. HSSU pulls down 44.7 rebounds per outing, while opponents are averaging 35.8 per game.
LAST TIME OUT • ARKANSAS-FORT SMITH 82, CENTRAL MISSOURI 75 • 11/19/16
FORT SMITH, Ark. (Nov. 19, 2016) – The Mules jumped out to an early lead, but cold shooting and a big run by No. 23 Arkansas-Fort Smith midway through the game resulted in an 82-75 loss for the Mules on Saturday night at the Stubblefield Center.
   Central Missouri (2-1) jumped on top early and led for much of the first half before the Lions (4-2) made their move. The Mules opened up a six-point advantage at 21-15 with 8:07 to play in the first half, but UAFS used an 8-0 run to grab a 23-21 lead.
   The Mules briefly stopped the run with a three-pointer by
Dushaun Rice at the 4:54 mark to regain the lead at 24-23, but the Lions scored nine of the final 15 points of the half to lead 32-30 at the intermission.
   The Lions continued their run out of the halftime break, scoring six of the first seven points of the frame to open up a 38-31 lead. The lead grew to 12 at the 15:28 mark at 47-35. The Mules battled back to within seven at 55-48 with 11:02 to play in the game, but UAFS scored seven straight points to push the lead to 14 at 62-48 with 9:29 to play.
   UCM wouldn't go away, however, going on a 13-4 run over the next 4:41 to pull within 66-61 with 4:48 to play. UAFS had another answer though, scoring four quick points to push the lead back to double digits.
   The Mules were able to get back to within six at 76-70 with just under a minute to play, but the Lions were able to ice the game away at the free throw line.

Spencer Reaves led UCM with a game-high 22 points.
Kyle Wolf had 19 points and
Marquiez Lawrence finished with 12 points and eight rebounds. UCM was held to 38 percent shooting from the field and made just 7-of-24 from beyond the arc. The Mules were 20-of-24 from the free throw line.
   UAFS held a big advantage on the glass, out-rebounding the Mules 42-22. The Mules foreced 18 Lion turnovers and out-scored Arkansas-Fort Smith 15-2 in points off turnovers.
   Alex Cooper led five Lions in double figures with 16 points. Ladarius Coleman (13 points and 10 rebounds) and Dalton Glapion (10 points and 11 rebounds) both had double-doubles for UAFS.
MULES IN NON-CONFERENCE ACTION
• The Mules are 2-1 in non-conference action after a the setback at Arkansas-Fort Smith.
• UCM was 6-1 in non-conference games last season, including a 6-0 mark in regular season non-con games. They are 134-33 over the last 15 seasons.
• Central Missouri is 64-1 in the last 65 non-conference home games at the Multipurpose Building.

• The Mules were 10-6 at home last season and are 24-8 at home under

• Wolf is fourth in the league in field goal percentage at 65.4 percent, while Reaves is 15th shooting it at a 50 percent clip. Both players are also shooting 50 percent from three-point range, tied for fifth in the MIAA.

UCM DURING THE KARLESKINT ERA

Doug Karleskint has a record of 41-23 (.641) in his third season as head coach at Central Missouri and a 130-57 (.695) overall mark in his seventh season as a head coach.
• He became the first Mules' head coach to start his first season at UCM 7-0 when he accomplished the mark in 2014-15.
• His 25 wins in 2014-15 were the most by a first-year head coach in Central Missouri history.
• Karleskint became the fourth Mules' head coach to win at least 20 games in his first season.
• Before coming to UCM, he spent the previous five seasons at Arkansas Tech, including the last four as head coach.
