TIP-OFF• The Central Missouri Mules return to action on Wednesday night, Nov. 18 hosting Rockhurst at 7:30 p.m. at the UCM Multipurpose Building.
• The Mules went 2-0 at the Mules Basketball Classic last weekend to open the 2015-16 season. UCM beat Minnesota-Duluth 78-60 in the season-opener on Friday night, then beat Concordia-St. Paul 77-52 on Saturday afternoon.
• The Mules enter the season picked No. 2 in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll.
• The Mules were 25-7 a season ago and advanced to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament. It was the eighth 20-win season in the last 11 years and the 24th in school history.
• Central Missouri finished 14-5 in MIAA play last year and finished as the regular season runner-up.

• Central Missouri is third all-time in NCAA Division II men's basketball with 1,642 wins.

MULE FEED• Through two games this season, the Mules are averaging 77.5 points per game while shooting 48 percent from the field. They are limiting opponents to 56.0 points per game on 33 percent shooting.
• Five Mules recorded double-doubles last season (
Dillon Deck,
Rakeem Dickerson,
Brennen Hughes,
TJ White and
Kyle Wolf). Only Wolf returns this season.
• Ten different Mules scored in double figures last season and nine different Mules led the team in scoring. Through two games this season, six different players have scored in double figures and three players have led the team in scoring.
SERIES HISTORY• This will be the 48th all-time meeting between Central Missouri and Rockhurst. The Mules lead the series 31-16.
• UCM has won four straight in the series, including an 86-72 win at the Multi back on Nov. 22, 2011 in the last meeting between the two schools.
• The teams have met 24 times in Warrensburg with the Mules holding a 17-7 advantage, including a 10-3 mark in the Multi.
• This will be the first meeting of the schools under their current head coaches.
LAST MEETING WITH ROCKHURST• Five Mules finished in double figures as UCM beat Rockhurst 86-72 on Nov. 22, 2011 at the UCM Multipurpose Building.
• A 19-5 run by UCM to end the first half and begin the second gave the Mules a 56-40 lead with about 16:30 to paly in the game.
• UCM shot 53 percent from the field, but just 27 percent from three-point range, while the Hawks shot 42 from the floor and 38 percent from beyond the arc.
• Matt Webb led UCM with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Boo Hunter had 16 points and Yavario Smith had 14. Dominique Long and Widgett Washington each scored 12 with Washington dishing out eight assists.
• Martin Roper led Rockhurst with 16 points and was joined in double figures by Brandon McCann and James Robinson, who had 14 and 12 points, respectively.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS• Rockhurst enters the game at 1-0 on the season after a 101-38 win over Calvary Bible on Saturday night in Kansas City.
• The Hawks are led by first-year head coach Drew Diener. In his seventh season as a college head coach, he has compiled a 169-43 record.
• The Hawks return four starters from last season's squad that went 7-19 overall and 3-15 in GLVC play.
• Rockhurst shot 52 percent in their season-opener and made 40 field goals.
• Freshman Austin LeVan led the team with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including six made three-pointers.
• Four other Hawks finished in double figures; Dominique Washington (12), Alex Hagan (11), Will Kathrein (11) and Joshua Brannon (10).
• The Hawks out-rebounded CBC 52-24 and held them to 24 percent shooting from the floor (10-of-41) and 29 percent from three-point range (6-of-21).
• Wednesday night's meeting is the first of three straight games against MIAA schools for Rockhurst. They will travel to Washburn on Saturday and host Missouri Southern on Monday, Nov. 23.
LAST TIME OUT • CENTRAL MISSOURI 77, CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL 52 • 11/14/15WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Central Missouri Mules used a 13-0 run in the first half to break a tie and pull away from Concordia-St. Paul for a 77-52 win on Saturday afternoon at the UCM Multipurpose Building.
   The game was tied 7-7 in the early going before the Mules' run that saw them take a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
Roosevelt Scott started the run with five straight points, a three-point play and a fast-break jumper. The run was 13-0 over a nearly five minute span that gave UCM a 20-7 lead.
   The Golden Bears got the lead back to 10 at 22-12, but the Mules closed the half on a 14-4 run to lead 36-16 at halftime.
   The second half got off to a sloppy start for the Mules, missing their first three shots and turning it over two other times. Scott scored UCM's first points of the half on a jumper at the 17:47 mark to make it 38-18.
D'Marnier Cunningham scored on a layup and then hit a three in consecutive trips to quickly push the lead to 25, 43-18, with 16:56 remaining in the game.
   An 8-2 spurt by the Golden Bears cut the Mule lead to 45-26 with 14:37 to play, but the Mules answered back with a quick 6-0 spurt and the lead was 24 at the 12:25 mark. CSP cut the lead back to under 20 at 63-44 with 6:23 to play in the game, but a 12-1 run by UCM gave the Mules their largest lead of the day at 75-45 with 4:07 to play.
   Scott led the Mules with 19 points and also had four steals. Cunningham finished with 12 points and
Tony Cochran chipped in 11.
Marquiez Lawrence had eight points and nine rebounds as well.
   The Mules shot 45 percent for the game, going 29-of-64. They were 8-of-23 from three-point range for 35 percent and 11-of-15 at the foul line for 73 percent.
   CSP was led by Cole Olstad's nine points. The Golden Bears had three players with eight points apiece. They were 18-of-53 from the field for 34 percent and 5-of-15 from three-point range for 33 percent. CSP was 11-of-18 from the charity stripe for 61 percent.
   The Mules forced 21 CSP turnovers and turned those in to 18 points. UCM held a 32-22 advantage in points in the paint and 24-13 in bench scoring.
THE MULES AT HOME• The Mules are 2-0 at home after beating Minnesota-Duluth (78-60) and Concordia-St. Paul (77-52) last weekend. They are 170-23 at the Multi over the last 14 years.
• Central Missouri went 14-2 at home last season.
• Over the last 11 years, UCM is 153-13 at home, including 61-1 against non-conference opponents and 92-12 in MIAA play.
• The Mules are 481-90 in their 39th season playing home games at the Multipurpose Building.
MULES ON THE ROAD• The Mules were 6-3 on the road last season and were one of only three teams with a winning record on the road during MIAA play.

KARLESKINT LEADING THE WAY•
Doug Karleskint has a record of 27-7 in his second season as head coach at Central Missouri and a 117-41 (.741) overall mark in his sixth season as a head coach.
• He became the first Mules' head coach to start his first season at UCM 7-0.
• His 25 wins last year were the most by a first-year head coach in Central Missouri history.
• Karleskint became the fourth Mules' head coach to win at least 20 games in his first season.
• Before coming to UCM, he spent the previous five seasons at Arkansas Tech, including the last four as head coach. He compiled a 90-34 (.726) record with the Wonder Boys with four conference championships and four trips to the NCAA-II National Tournament, including a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2012.
MULES IN THE NATIONAL POLLS• The Mules are receiving votes in the NABC Preseason Poll. UCM has been ranked in 152 polls in the history of the program, the seventh most in NCAA-II history.
• The Mules were preseason No. 23 in the Division II Media Poll sponsored by D2SIDA. The poll is voted on by a panel of Sports Information Directors.
• The Mules moved up two spots to No. 2 in the latest USBWA Central Region Poll. The Mules received one of five first place votes and totaled 45 points to trail only Minnesota State-Moorehead in the poll. The United State Basketball Writers' Association poll is voted on by a panel of Sports Information Directors from the Central Region.
