Game NotesLast Week... The No. 16 Central Missouri Jennies (22-8, 19-3 MIAA)  won their second straight conference title with a 3-0 win over Missouri Western on Friday. The Jennies hit .316, and had eight aces and seven blocks, taking the match at 25-19, 25-21, 25-21.Â
Annie Reilly finished the match with three aces, and 16 digs.
Kourtney Thompson had her 15th double-double of the season, with 13 digs and 36 assists.
Carly Sojka had her 15th double-double, with 16 kills and 13 digs. She hit .424 in the match.
Maddie Jones hit .462, with nine kills and a block.
Haley Thompson hit .400, with six kills, and three blocks.
Lauren Dudgeon had two kills off of two attempts.
Sojka earned MIAA Hitter of the Week for the fourth times this season for her performance against Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri State. She had Sojka hit .370, with 5.33 kills and 3.00 digs in six sets last week.
The Jennies moved up a spot to No. 16 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll released Monday. The previous day, it was announced that Central Missouri would be the No. 4 seed for the Central Regional Tournament, and would face Wayne State, who are ranked No. 6 nationally.Â
All-MIAA JenniesThe MIAA announced the 2014 All-Conference volleyball squads on Wednesday morning. The Jennies entire starting line-up was awarded All-MIAA honors, with
Carly Sojka,
Haley Thompson, and
Annie Reilly making First Team.
Kourtney Thompson was named to the second team, while
Shelby Winkelmann,
Becca Blaise and
Maddie Jones were named to the honorable mention team. Sojka was also named to the Daktronics All-Region First Team, Â while Reilly earned second team honors. Â Â
Central Oklahoma had both the MIAA Player of the Year, Barbara Jackson, and Coach of the Year, Edgar Miraku, while LaRose Currie from Nebraska-Kearney was named Freshman of the Year.
Sojka was second in the MIAA in kills, with 4.09 kills per set. She had 15 double-double this season, and averaged 2.83 digs per set. Sojka matched a career-high 26 kills against Missouri Southern this season, and tallied the most kills on the team in 23 matches. She was named MIAA Hitter of the Week four times, and also earned National Player of the Week once. This is Sojka's third All-MIAA honor, but the first time she has made the First Team.Â
H. Thompson had the second best hitting percentage in the MIAA (.322), and was fifth in blocking, with 1.11 per set. She broke a blocking career-record, with eight blocks against then-No. 4 Nebraska-Kearney, and matched her previous record of seven blocks four times this season. H. Thompson also earned National Player of the Week for her performance at the Tampa Spartans Classic to open the season. This is her second All-MIAA nod of her career.Â
Reilly leads the MIAA and is fourth in the Division II in aces, with 0.62 per set. She is also second in the MIAA in digs (5.65). She had the best receiving percentage on the team, with only seven reception errors off of 466 attempts. Reilly matched her career-high digs against Central Oklahoma, with 33 digs in the five set match. She also tied the Central Missouri record for aces in a match (7) against Fort Hays State and Pittsburg State this season. Reilly was named the MIAA Specialist of the Week three times this season.
K. Thompson was named to the All-MIAA Second Team. She was fourth in the MIAA in assists, with 10.30 per set, in her first season as the Jennies starting setter. She had 15 double-doubles this season, and had a blocking point in 23 matches. This is the first season that K. Thompson was named to an All-Conference squad.
Winkelmann, Blaise, and Jones were all Honorable Mention. Both Blaise and Jones were Honorable Mention last season as well. Winkelmann started 29 of 30 matches this season. She averaged 2.90 digs per set, and have the most receptions on the team (543). She reached double-digit digs in 15 matches. She her best offensive match was against Emporia State, Winkelmann hit .429 with seven kills in five sets.Blaise had 2.69 digs and 1.03 kills pet set. She had double-digit digs in 11 matches, with a double-double against Nebraska-Kearney. She had a career-high seven blocks in the last week of the season, against Northwest Missouri State. Jones had 1.91 kills per set and 0.40 blocks per set. She had the most blocks on the team in five matches, and the most kills in twice. She had double-digit kills in five matches, with a career-high 14 kills against Central Oklahoma.Â

She has had 784 reception attempts, with 38 errors this season, for a .952 receiving percentage. Alyssa Frauendorfer is second in kills, with 2.96 per set, and has the best hitting percentage of the Wildcats at .327. She also averages 0.70 blocks per set and 0.29 aces per set. Elizabeth Gebhardt is right behind her with 2.83 kills per set. She has had 0.74 blocks and 0.24 aces per set. Alex Opperman has the most blocking points, averaging 0.82 per set. Michaela Mesti leads the Wildcat defense, with 4.40 digs per set, and also averages 1.85 kills and 0.34 aces per set.
