STORY LINES
• The Mules continue their three-game home stand hosting Missouri Southern on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at the UCM Multipurpose Building.
• The Mules are coming off a 77-58 win over Lindenwood on Saturday afternoon.
• The Lions are coming off a 105-71 win over Missouri Western on Saturday and will play at Southwest Baptist on Thursday, Jan. 30 before coming to Warrensburg on Saturday.
• Entering the week, the Mules sit in third place in the MIAA standings, a game and a half behind first place Northwest Missouri and a half game back of second place Missouri Southern.
• Saturday is the 30-year reunion for the 1983-84 Mules and Jennies National Championship basketball teams. Returning players of both teams will be honored in a ceremony at halftime of the Mules game.

• This is the 109th season of Central Missouri Mules basketball.
• Central Missouri is third all-time in NCAA Division II men's basketball with 1,601 wins.

• Central Missouri finished 13-5 in MIAA play last year and captured a share of the MIAA regular season championship for the second straight season. It was the fifth conference crown under Anderson and 23rd in school history.
• UCM returns one all-MIAA performer from a season ago. Charles Hammork was an honorable mention All-MIAA pick last season after averaging 11.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. He was also an MIAA Tournament All-Tournament Team selection in helping the Mules to the conference tournament title.
• Three of the top nine single-season scoring leaders in UCM history have come during the 11-year tenure of head coach Kim Anderson.

SERIES HISTORY VS MISSOURI SOUTHERN
• This will be the 54th all-time meeting between Central Missouri and Missouri Southern. The Mules lead the series 31-22, including a 17-8 edge in games played in Warrensburg.
• The Lions won the only meeting between the two schools last year, 93-81, in Joplin.
• UCM is 15-9 against Missouri Southern during the Kim Anderson era, including a 7-3 record at the UCM Multipurpose Building during that span.
• The teams have split the last six meetings, including the last two in Warrensburg.

LAST MEETING WITH MISSOURI SOUTHERN
• The Lions shot 51 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range in a 93-81 win over the Mules on Feb. 9, 2013 in Joplin. The loss was the third straight for Central Missouri.
• Missouri Southern jumped out to an early 12-2 lead, but the Mules responded with a 15-2 run and actually led 21-19 with just under seven minutes left in the first half.
• A 12-2 run by MSSU gave the Lions a 31-23 lead they wouldn't relinquish. The Mules got to within six points near the midway point of the second half, but the Lions had an answer for each and every UCM run and the Mules could get no closer.
• Widgett Washington led the Mules with 19 points and seven assists. Alex Dean had 17 points and Dominique Long added 12 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
• Central Missouri shot 52 percent from the field, but just 17 percent from beyond the arc, 3 of 18.
• The Lions were led in scoring by RJ Leverette's 23 points, while Marquis Addison had 20. Jordan Talbert chipped in 10 points and Cameron Cornelius had 10.
• MSSU made 34 of 67 shot from the floor, including 6 of 12 from three-point range. The Lions were 19 of 23 at the foul line as well.
• The Mules out-rebounded the Lions 37-32 and held a 54-44 advantage in the paint, but UCM turned it over 15 times, leading to 18 MSSU points.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
• Missouri Southern comes into the week at 14-3 overall and 8-2 in MIAA play following a 105-71 win over Missouri Western on Saturday afternoon in Joplin. The Lions have won four of their last five games with the only setback being a 79-78 last second loss at Northwest Missouri on Jan. 22.
• The Lions will play at Southwest Baptist on Thursday, Jan. 30 before coming to Warrensburg on Saturday.
• MSSU is averaging 86.0 points per game, while giving up 69.2 per contest. The Lions shoot 50 percent from the field and 36 percent from behind the three-point line. They've been to the free throw line 508 times this season, an average of 29.9 free throws per game. They've shot 46 more free throws than their opponents.
• Marquis Addison leads four players in double figures at 16.1 points per game. Cameron Cornelius averages 12.9 points per outing, while Jordan Talbert and Slim Magee chip in 12.0 and 11.1 points per contest, respectively.
• Talbert leads the team in rebounding at 7.4 per game, while Magee pulls down 5.7 boards per outing.
• The Lions are out-rebounding the opposition 39.3-32.5 and forcing 16.5 turnovers per game.
• MSSU has gotten off to fast starts this year. The Lions have out-scored opponents 728-551 in the first half this year. The average halftime score has been 42.8-32.4.

LAST TIME OUT • CENTRAL MISSOURI 77,  LINDENWOOD 58• 1/25/14
WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Central Missouri Mules shot 50 percent from the field and led from start to finish in a 77-58 win over Lindenwood on Saturday afternoon at the UCM Multipurpose Buidling. The Mules led by as many as 21 as they improved to 16-4 overall and 8-3 in MIAA play.
    The game was tied 2-2 in the early going, but a layup from Charles Hammork and another from Dillon Deck put the Mules in front 6-3. The Lions (8-12, 3-7 MIAA) tied the game at 8-all with 15:24 left in the first half, but a 16-4 run gave the Mules a 24-12 lead they would never relinquish.
    Lindenwood got to within eight at 26-18 with just under eight minutes to play in the opening stanza, but five straight points from Hammork pushed the lead back to 13 with 6:57 remaining. Preston Brunz's layup and a tip-in from Dillon Deck pushed the lead to 16 with just over five minutes to play in the half and the Mules would lead 41-27 at the intermission.
    The Lions cut the lead to 11 in the early minutes of the second half, but a layup from Deck and a three from Ryan Magdziarz put UCM back in front by 16 at the 15:42 mark.
    Lindenwood crept back to within 10 at 52-42 with 13:41 to play in the game, but Kyle Wolf's three-point play put Central Missouri back up by 13. The lead increased to 17 on a tip-in from Deck and Wolf's second three-point play.
    A pair of free throws from Michael Boos and a jumper from Darris Smith cut the UCM lead to 13 with 9:13 left in the game, but a 9-1 run gave the Mules a 21-point advantage, 69-48, with 4:12 to play and they were never threatened the rest of the way.
    Deck led UCM with his third double-double of the season, 21 points and 12 rebounds. Hammork finished with 14 points and six rebounds and Wolf added 12 points off the bench.
    The Mules shot 29 of 58 from the field, but just 3 of 16 from beyond the arc for 19 percent. UCM was 16 of 21 at the free throw line for 76 percent. UCM out-rebounded the Lions 39-26 and held a 38-14 advantage in points in the paint. The Mules finished with 14 assists on 29 made shots and had just nine turnovers.
    The Lions were led by Smith's 11 points, while Aaron Ramirez had 10. LWU was 17 of 41 from the field for 42 percent and 6 of 19 from three-point range for 32 percent. The Lions made 18 of 32 at the charity stripe for 56 percent.
    Central Missouri held a 24-5 edge in second chance points and scored 26 points of 14 Lindenwood turnovers.

THE MULES IN MIAA PLAY
• Central Missouri is 151-66 in MIAA play during the Kim Anderson era and 8-3 this season after the 77-58 win over Lindenwood last Saturday at the Multi.
• The Mules were 13-5 in conference play last year and won a share of the MIAA regular season title.
• The Mules' best MIAA record under Anderson was an 18-2 mark during the 2009-10 season.
• The Mules have captured five MIAA regular season championships and four MIAA tournament titles under Kim Anderson.

MULES IN NON-CONFERENCE ACTION
• The Mules are 109-28 in non-conference games during the Kim Anderson era after the win over Culver-Stockton on December 16.
• Central Missouri is 53-1 in the last 54 non-conference games at home.

THE MULES AT HOME
• Central Missouri is 150-21 at the Multipurpose Building under Kim Anderson after beating Lindenwood 77-58 on Saturday afternoon.
