FIRST PITCH 
  • No. 5 Central Missouri Jennies softball makes their 41st appearance at the MIAA Championships, taking on No. 4 Emporia State Hornets (28-17, 14-10 MIAA) on Thursday, May 7, with first pitch scheduled for 1:30 p.m. from Turnbull Field at Trusler Sports Complex in Emporia, Kan.      
  • Six Jennies earned All-MIAA honors, announced by the conference office on Tuesday, May 5, including Bailey Brumley (Utility – First Team), Marisa Johnson (Designated Player – First Team), Taylor Thompson (Catcher – Second Team), Lexi Blackmon (Outfielder – Third Team), Andi Siebeneck (Pitcher – Honorable Mention), and Kyrsten Moran (Outfielder – Honorable Mention).
  • The Jens are making the program's 41st appearance at the 2026 MIAA Softball Championships with a record of 78-61.
 
 
  WHAT'S THE COUNT? 
  • Each game of the 2026 MIAA Softball Championships will be available on a pay-per-view basis through the MIAA Network, with coverage of UCM's opening round contest with ESU beginning at 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon from Turnbull Field at the Trusler Sports Complex in Emporia.
  • Each Jennies game at the 2026 MIAA Softball Championships will also be broadcasted live on 1450 AM and 92.1 FM with Voice of the Jennies Greg Hassler and Jason Ketz on the call.

MEET THE JENS  
 
SIX JENS EARN ALL-MIAA HONORS IN 2026
  • Bailey Brumley (Utility – 1st Team): Brumley earned her second consecutive All-MIAA selection after an Honorable Mention nod last season. Bailey started all 50 games for the Jens during the regular season, splitting time between a starting pitcher and first baseman. Brumley's .331 batting average is fourth on the team, collecting 54 hits, including 16 for extra bases, while driving in 42 RBI. In the circle, Bailey posted an 11-5 record with a 3.11 ERA, leading the staff with 99 innings pitched, 75 strikeouts, and six complete-game efforts.
  • Marisa Johnson (Designated Player – 1st Team): Johnson garnered her first All-MIAA nod, sporting the third-highest batting average on the team at .354, with 46 hits, including 24 for extra bases, leading the team with 11 doubles and second in home runs with 13. Marisa's 42 RBI are tied for second-most for UCM, while collecting 96 total bases and 28 runs scored. Johnson has 12 multi-hit ballgames on the year, highlighted by a seven-game hitting streak for good measure.
  • Taylor Thompson (Catcher – 2nd Team): Thompson earned her third consecutive All-MIAA nod, after receiving First Team DP honors in 2025. Taylor finished the regular season with a .318 batting average, 50 hits, including 24 for extra bases, leading the MIAA and team with 16 homers. Taylor's 106 total bases and 54 RBI paced the Jens offensively as the junior recorded 11 multi-hit ballgames for good measure.
  • Lexi Blackmon (Outfielder – 3rd Team): Blackmon received her first All-MIAA selection with a team-best .401 batting average during the regular season, starting 49 games in left field. Lexi collected 55 hits, including seven for extra bases, while leading the team with 23 stolen bases on 27 attempts and 32 runs scored. Blackmon recorded 16 multi-hit ballgames, while posting a 12-game hitting streak and sporting a .971 fielding percentage for good measure.
  • Andi Siebeneck (Pitcher – Honorable Mention): Siebeneck earned her first All-MIAA honors after pacing the staff with a 13-4 record during the regular season in 26 appearances. Andi's 2.88 ERA ranks first on the team, while her five complete games, two saves, 97 1/3 innings pitched, and 45 strikeouts are second-most on the staff. Siebeneck posted three or more punch outs in five outings, highlighted by a career-high seven against Nebraska-Kearney (April 25) on Senior Day for good measure.
  • Kyrsten Moran (Outfielder – Honorable Mention): Moran garnered All-MIAA accolades, sporting the second-highest batting average on the team at .388, while leading the team with 64 hits, 43 runs scored, and three triples. Kyrsten started all 50 games during the regular season for the Jens in center field, compiling an OPS of .930, a .461 slugging percentage, .469 on-base percentage, and 20 stolen bases in 24 attempts.
  
 
JENS AROUND THE DIAMOND
  • Central Missouri returns seven position starters and three pitchers from a season ago as the Jens went 30-19 overall, and 14-10 in MIAA play.
  • Through the regular season, Central Missouri posted a .311 team batting average, scoring 5.9 runs per game, stealing 103 bases on 121 total attempts, and sporting a .965 fielding percentage with 18 double plays made.
  • The Jens have a team ERA of 3.24 through 50 games this season, while Andi Siebeneck paces the staff with an 13-4 record. Bailey Brumley leads the team with 75 strikeouts, and a .259 batting average against for good measure.  
 
 
CENTRAL MISSOURI AT THE PLATE  
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • No. 4 Emporia State: Thursday afternoon against No. 4 Emporia State will be the 114th all-time meeting, with the Hornets holding a 67-46 lead in the series. In the MIAA Softball Championships, the Hornets are 9-3, including winners of the last eight meetings. The most recent match-up was in 2019, when the Hornets defeated the Jennies 6-1 on May 4 in Edmond, Okla.  
 
 
UCM DURING THE ANDERSON ERA
  • Susan Anderson is in her 20th season as head coach of the Jennies, where she is the second-winningest coach in program history with a record of 591-442 (.572). She became just the second coach in program history to eclipse 500 wins, doing so in game two of a double header against Fort Hays State (April 16, 2023) on Senior Day.
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson was the fastest coach to accomplish 100 wins, doing so in just three seasons while making 17 MIAA tournaments, five regional tournaments, and one Elite Eight appearance.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 22 first team All-MIAA selections, 10 All-Region selections, two All-Americans, and one MIAA MVP.
