RUSSELLVILE, Ark. -- University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball senior starting pitcher
Sawyer Allen was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-Central Region First Team, it was announced on Friday, May 15, by the organization.
A native of Plate City, Mo., Allen is 7-1 on the mound with a 2.21 ERA in 14 appearances this season. The left-hander has allowed just 18 earned runs on 51 hits with 73 strikeouts and only 19 walks in 73 1/3 innings pitched.
He ranks second in the MIAA in ERA and opposing batting average (.192), third in strikeouts, and sixth in innings pitched.
In the most recent NCAA Division II National Statistics, Allen is fourth in WHIP (0.97) and 15th in ERA.
Allen was also named to the All-MIAA First Team earlier this season.
Third-seeded Mules Baseball is scheduled to take on second-seeded Rogers State in the NCAA-II Central Regional later today, May 15, at 5 p.m. in Claremore, Okla.
