KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The defending MIAA Tournament Champion University of Central Missouri Jennies soccer team has been picked as the preseason favorite in the 2025 MIAA Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference office announced Friday, August 15.
The Jennies, ranked No. 13 in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason NCAA-II National Poll, received 132 points and four first-place votes to take the top spot in the poll.
Central Oklahoma was tabbed second with 126 points and four first-place votes, and Missouri Western rounded out the top three in third with 124 points.
Washburn was fourth with 123 points and five first-place votes, followed by Northeastern State in fifth with 92 points, Northwest Missouri State in sixth with 89 points, and Pittsburg State in seventh with 71 points.
Nebraska Kearney (69 points), Fort Hays State (63 points) and Emporia State (53 points) wrapped up the top 10.

Last season, the Jennies finished 9-2-1 against MIAA opponents and 17-5-2 overall. Central Missouri captured the program's seventh MIAA Tournament Title and placed third in the final MIAA regular season standings.
UCM is scheduled to open its 2025 season against Augustana (S.D.) in Mankato, Minn., on Friday, Sept. 5.
