BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- No. 20-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies Golf advanced to the NCAA-II Women's Golf National Championship at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, Friday, May 16.
The Jennies went 2-0 in match play to advance to the final where they will face No. 4 Dallas Baptist University. This marks the first appearance in the National Championship in program history for the Jennies.
In their first match against No. 7 Cal State San Marcos, the Jen's won by a final match score of 4-1. They were led by junior
Mia Rallo who shot an 18-hole score of 67 (-5) to win her match by four, senior
Nicole Rallo shot an 18-hole score of 68 (-4) to win her match by six, sophomore
Maya McVey shot an 18-hole score of 69 (-3) to win her match by four, and junior
Libby Green shot an 18-hole score of 74 (+2) to win by one and advance the Jennies to the semifinals.
In the semifinals, the Jennies defeated No. 4 Flagler University by a final match score of 3-2.
Maya McVey led the Jennies scoring in the semifinals by shooting an 18-hole score of 71 (-1) to win her match by one, redshirt junior
Kiki Bruner shot an 18-hole score of 72 (Even-par) to win her match by six, and
Mia Rallo shot an 18-hole score of 74 (+2) to win her match by one to secure the jennies spot in the final championship match.
The National Championship will take place Saturday, May 17, where UCM will face Dallas Baptist in match play beginning at 9:00 a.m. CT (7:00 a.m. PT) at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
