Jennies Basketball Drops Regular Season Finale at No. 10 Pittsburg State Saturday, 82-72

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Central Missouri Jennies basketball fell to the No. 10-ranked Pittsburg State Gorillas, 82-72, in its 2024-25 regular season finale Saturday afternoon, March 1, inside John Lance Arena.

The Jennies end the regular season with an overall record of 16-12 and a MIAA mark of 8-11.

UCM will be the number seven seed in the 2025 MIAA Women's Basketball Championship presented by Southern Bank and will face No. 10 seed Emporia State in a first round game Wednesday, March 5, at approximately 8:15 p.m. inside historic Municipal Auditorium in downtown Kansas City, Mo.

Reese Schaaf scored 26 points on 11-of-25 shooting from the field and tallied 15 rebounds for her team and MIAA-best 15th double-double of the season while Allie Clevenger and Taylor Weishaar both compiled 13 points, leading UCM in the contest.

For the game, UCM shot 41 percent from the field, going 29-of-70, and were 8-of-12 at the free-throw line for 67 percent.

Pittsburg State (26-3, 18-1 MIAA) outrebounded Central Missouri, 43-33, and outscored the Jennies in the paint, 40-32, and off turnovers, 15-14.

The Gorillas shot 48 percent from the field, making 29 out of 60 shots, and were 19-of-22 at the free-throw line for 86 percent.

Grace Pyle compiled a game-high 29 points and Macie Mays added 18 points, leading Pitt State.
