WARRENSBURG, Mo. – University of Central Missouri Athletics will offer discounted general admission tickets to the Mules Football home game against Pittsburg State on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 1 p.m. at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field for individuals who donate to The Food Center of Johnson County (Mo). The ongoing government shutdown and its effects have placed a heavy burden on The Food Center at this time. The UCM Athletic Department encourages fans of the Mules and Jennies to support their local community through this initiative.
Individuals who donate items
from the list below will receive 50 percent off general admission tickets to Saturday's home finale against the Gorillas. One (1) discounted ticket can be purchased
per item donated. So, for example, if one item is donated, one discounted ticket can be purchased. If two items are donated, two discounted tickets can be purchased.
For those who already have tickets to the contest or would prefer to, they can donate items for a voucher for a general admission ticket to the Mules and Jennies home basketball MIAA doubleheader against Fort Hays State on Thursday, December 4.
The list of items needed from the Food Center includes:
- Canned tuna
- Canned chicken
- Peanut butter
- Dried milk
- Canned soup
- Bagged soup mix
- Bar soap
- Canned mixed vegetables
All donated items will be distributed directly to The Food Center of Johnson County (Mo.) to support the local community. Only items from this list will be accepted for the discount.
Items can be donated at the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) table at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field on Saturday, or individuals can drop off donations (and purchase corresponding tickets) at the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center Ticket Office, room 101, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until Friday, Nov. 7.
