WARRENSBURG, Mo. – University of Central Missouri Mules Football Head Coach
Josh Lamberson announced the addition of 32 incoming high school freshmen and nine transfers as part of the program's talented 2026 recruiting class on National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
"We're so excited to welcome the new members of the Mules Football Family. There are so many people that play a role in recruiting these tremendous young men and their families to the University of Central Missouri," Lamberson said.
"A special thank you to the academic faculty here at Central Missouri. You are incredibly generous with your time and talents. The academic meetings that our faculty have with these young men and their families play a vital role in their view of UCM as an educational advantage for future employment opportunities.
Thank you to the Warrensburg community members who go above and beyond to assist the football program in our recruiting efforts. Thank you to local business owners for welcoming our recruits and their families into your establishments and making them feel welcome. Whether your support was in person or through external resources that allowed the coaching staff to showcase Warrensburg, your support and warmth are truly appreciated.
Thank you to our athletic administration for their consistent support in recruiting the very best student-athletes across the country. We are blessed to be at an institution that allows us to cast a wide net across the nation to go out and create relationships with high school students from a wide variety of backgrounds. Thank you to President Roger Best and First Lady Robin Best for always being first in line to welcome our recruits and their families.
Thank you to our support staff and their efforts during nights, weekends, and every day of the week. They are always on call and offer support for the coaching staff and our recruits throughout this entire process.
Thank you to our coaching staff for the miles traveled, the hours on the phone, the games watched, the film evaluated, the relationships built, and the sacrifices made to build this class. This class has been built through real relationships and genuine care about the individual. In a day and age where transactional relationships are in the headlines of most news outlets, our staff has kept the transformational approach to building relationships and creating a class that everyone is proud of. Real relationships still matter in this profession, and these coaches did a great job of finding young men who embody our core values and standards here at UCM," Lamberson added.
"I truly believe this is the best signing class in all of NCAA Division II. This class has talent at every level on both sides of the ball. We are extremely excited about every position in this recruiting class. The depth of talent and character is something I cannot wait for the UCM community to experience in the coming months and years," Lamberson said.
