SCENE SETTER
  • University of Central Missouri Mules Football (3-5, 3-3 MIAA) will look to snap a three-game losing skid when it travels to Hays, Kan., for a MIAA contest against the Fort Hays State Tigers (5-4, 4-3 MIAA) on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. at Lewis Field Stadium.
  • UCM is coming off a 31-27 loss to the Emporia State Hornets in the annual UCM Homecoming Game on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field.
  • Through eight games, Central Missouri leads the MIAA in total offense (464.8 yards per game) and ranks second in both passing offense (309.8 passing yards per game) and scoring (31.8 points per game). UCM's 464.8 yards per game ranks sixth in all of NCAA-II for total offense.
  • Wide receiver Hogan Wasson ranks third in NCAA-II in receptions per game at 7.71 catches per game and is seventh in receiving yards per game at 99.3 yards, while quarterback Donovyn Omolo is fourth in completions per game at 24.29 and seventh in total offense with 306.7 yards per game.
  • In the latest MIAA statistics, Wasson is second in receiving (99.3 yards per game) while Omolo is second in passing (260.1 passing yards per game) and total offense (306.7 yards per game). Will Peacock is second in field goals in the MIAA with 11 made. Defensively, Garrett Hormann is second in tackles with 10.3 per game, Michael Harris is third in sacks (4-for-27 yards), Malachi Howard is third in passes defended (10 total, 9 breakups, 1 INT), and Trenton Bell is tied for first in fumble recoveries (2).
  • The Mules went 9-3 overall and finished tied for third in the MIAA at 6-3 last season in 2024. UCM advanced to the postseason for a second straight season, defeating the University of Texas Permian Basin, 39-37 in double overtime, in the Heritage Bowl Powered by RIOT on December 7 in Corsicana, Texas.
  • With Central Missouri's 9-3 record in 2024 and 11-2 mark in 2023, the Mules posted at least 20 wins in two consecutive seasons for just the second time in program history.
  • 2025 will be the 129th season in the history of Mules Football. UCM has played football every year since 1895, except for 1918 due to World War I.
  • Central Missouri was voted fourth in both the 2025 MIAA Preseason Coaches and Media Polls released in late July by the conference office.

  • Mules Football welcomes 58 new student-athletes to their roster in 2025, including 36 high school freshmen and 22 transfers.
  • In addition, UCM has seven new coaches for the 2025 season. New coaches include: Rich Wright (Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Line), Neil Novak (Special Teams Coordinator/Defensive Backs), Vince Mayle (Wide Receivers), Jamal Morrow (Running Backs/Offensive Player Personnel), Dylan Graham (Tight Ends/Offensive Player Personnel), JaQuan Jenkins (Assistant Defensive Secondary) and Billy Musgrave (Assistant Defensive Line).
SERIES HISTORY
  • Saturday's contest against Fort Hays State will mark the 21st meeting in the all-time series, going back to the first meeting in 1964. UCM leads the series, 11-9. Last season, Central Missouri fell to FHSU in Hays, Kan., 31-21.
LAST TIME OUT: MULES DROP HOMECOMING CONTEST TO EMPORIA STATE, 31-27
  • University of Central Missouri Mules Football fell to the Emporia State University Hornets, 31-27, in the annual UCM Homecoming Game on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 25, at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field.
  • Central Missouri led the game, 27-17, going into the fourth quarter before the Hornets (4-4, 3-3 MIAA) outscored the Mules, 14-0, in the final stanza to complete the 31-27 comeback victory.
  • UCM quarterback Donovyn Omolo went 20-of-44 for 208 yards with a three-yard touchdown pass to Marlon Lindsey Jr., and added a team-high 77 rushing yards on 11 carries, including a one-yard rushing touchdown, and Hogan Wasson posted 81 receiving yards on seven catches, leading Central Missouri offensively in the contest.
  • Garrett Hormann had 16 tackles, Drew Kaufman added 13 tackles, Michael Harris tallied eight tackles, including 1.5 tackles-for-loss for 10 yards and a 10-yard quarterback sack, and Malachi Howard compiled three pass breakups, pacing UCM defensively.
  • Emporia State outgained Central Missouri in the game, 445 yards to 388 yards, including a 288-219 passing yards advantage, but the Mules outpaced the Hornets on the ground, tallying a 169-157 rushing advantage.
  • Quarterback Jamison Sarver went 25-of-41 for 288 yards with two touchdowns, leading the Hornets in the contest.
THE MULES AT HOME
  • The Mules are 266-191-13 overall and 2025 is their 93rd season playing home games at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field.
  • Under Josh Lamberson, Central Missouri is 15-6 at home.
SCORING STREAK CONTINUES
  • Central Missouri has scored in 358 straight games, a MIAA record.

MULES FOOTBALL HISTORY
  • In the 129 seasons of UCM Football, the Mules have compiled a 607-543-51 record. Central Missouri has fielded a football team every year since 1895, except for 1918, when World War I occurred.
  • The Mules have won 10 or more games six times in the history of the program and have posted 15 seasons of eight or more wins.
  • UCM tied the program record for wins in a season with 11 in 2023. The Mules also won 11 games in 2019 and 2010.
  • UCM has won or shared 14 MIAA championships in school history with the last coming in 2023.
  • The Mules have qualified for the postseason 13 times in their history, including five trips to the NCAA-II Playoffs, the last coming in 2023.

  • Former Mules' Football All-Americans Zach Zebrowski (QB) and Arkell Smith (WR) are currently playing for the Edmonton Elks in the Canadian Football League (CFL).
