WARRENSBURG, Mo. – University of Central Missouri Mules Football Head Coach
Josh Lamberson announced on Wednesday, June 10, that Cody Fayette has been named the program's new Tight Ends Coach.
Fayette joins the Mules after serving as an assistant coach at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D.
"We are thrilled to welcome Cody to the Mules Football family as our new Tight Ends Coach. He brings tremendous energy, passion, and knowledge of the game to our program, and he is someone who understands the importance of building relationships and developing young men both on and off the field," Lamberson said. "His ability to connect with players, teach the fundamentals of the position, and lead with authenticity makes him a great fit for our culture here at Central Missouri. We believe Cody will have an immediate impact on our tight ends, offense, and program. We are thrilled to have him join the Mules."
As an assistant coach for the Coyotes, Fayette engaged in scouting opponents, preparing practice plans, and assisting with the offensive line during practices and film studies, and the tight ends on game days.
Before his time as assistant coach at USD, he was a video coordinator and student assistant coach for South Dakota for two seasons.
Fayette played for South Dakota from 2020 to 2023 and was an offensive lineman, playing all five offensive line positions.
He graduated from the University of South Dakota in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in sport marketing and media.
