WARRENSBURG, Mo. – For the third time this season, the Mules 4x100m relay broke its own school record to highlight UCM track & field action Saturday, April 27, at the Drake Relays at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.
Additionally, several Mules and Jennies student-athletes competed at the Zac Kindler Invitational at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan.
Drake Relays
- The Mules 4x100m relay of Ariel Kerr, Brockton McLaughlin, Rawley Chard and Antonio Lay won the men's 4x100m college division relay after breaking their own school record for the third time this season, posting the fastest time in the nation at 39.76.
- Lay finished third in the men's 100m dash final with a time of 10.53. He was top Division II placer in the event.
- The Jennies 4x400m relay of Anayla Waters, Kayla Goodwin, Lenetta Lee and Brooklynn Holtman ran 3:51.00 to place third in the women's 4x400m college division relay.
Jumps
- Molly Greene placed first in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.32m (10-10.75).
- Weston Edwards was fifth in the men's pole vault with a mark of 3.95m (12-11.5).
Throws
- Madison Mears was third in the women's shot put with a personal-best mark of 13.59m (44-7). That mark is seventh best in school history.
- Demarcus Kelow placed third in the men's shot put with a mark of 15.78m (51-9.25).
- Laken Manns was fourth in the women's discus with a mark of 41.18m (135-1).
- Alex Atagi placed fifth in the men's hammer with a mark of 52.60m (172-7).
Sprints/Hurdles
UCM track & field is set to compete in the 2024 MIAA Outdoor Championships May 3-5 in Maryville, Mo.
