BOLIVAR, Mo. – Grizell Scarlett and the Jennies' 4x100m relay established new school records, highlighting UCM Track & Field's day of competition at the Southwest Baptist Bearcat Invitational on Saturday, March 28, at Plaster Stadium.
Sprints/Hurdles
- Grizell Scarlett and Emily Meeks both finished in the top 10 of the women's 200m dash. Scarlett won the event with a provisional and outdoor personal best time of 23.46, while Meeks was seventh with a personal best of 24.46. Scarlett's time is an outdoor school record, while Meeks' time is fourth-fastest in outdoor school history.
- Kye Mason won the men's 400m dash with a time of 47.78. Dayton Richardson also placed in the top 10, finishing eighth with a time of 50.20.
- Ty Lewis placed first in the men's 800m run with an outdoor personal best time of 1:55.60.
- Ariel Kerr was fifth in the men's 200m dash with a time of 21.509.
- Pau Martinez placed third in the women's 100m hurdles with a personal best time of 14.66.
- Sam-Efe Agalivie finished third, and Riley Rolwing was sixth in the men's 100m dash final. Agalivie posted a personal best time of 10.67, and Rolwing ran a personal best 10.953.
- Jentry Acklin finished third in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 14.64.
- The Mules had three top 10 finishers in the men's 400m hurdles. Connor McKee placed third with a time of 53.88, Yunus Altinay was fourth at 54.01, and August Meadows was seventh with a personal best 55.81.
Jumps
- Landon Childs placed first in the men's pole vault with a provisional and personal best height of 5.05m (16-06.75). His mark is the ninth-best in outdoor school history.
- Kaira Mannio finished first in the women's pole vault, clearing a height of 3.58m (11-09.00). Alaina Loman was ninth with a mark of 3.13m (10-03.25), and Jolee Castro tied for 10th with a mark of 2.98m (9-09.25).
- Michenainda Aritus won the women's long jump with an outdoor personal best mark of 5.76m (18-10.75). Lauren Welch finished just outside the top five in sixth with an outdoor personal best mark of 5.30m (17-04.75).
- Zachary Proctor placed first in the men's high jump with an outdoor personal best mark of 2.06m (6-09.00). Braiden Ferrel placed sixth with an outdoor personal best 1.90m (6-02.75).
- Kwyn Hamlin and Therese Reindl went 3-4 in the women's high jump. Hamlin was third with a 1.63m (5-04.25), while Reindl was fourth at 1.60m (5-03.00).
- Jeremy Bennett had a top-five showing in the men's long jump, placing fourth with a mark of 6.95m (22-09.75).
Throws
- Landon Mason won the men's discus with a mark of 48.69m (159-9). Mason also placed first in the men's hammer with a provisional mark of 57.17m (187-7).
- The Jennies had three top-five performers in the women's discus. Madison Mears won the event with a mark of 41.58m (136-05.00), Marley Sands was fourth with a mark of 39.62m (130-0), and Isabella Kulenkamp was fifth with a personal best mark of 37.58m (123-04.00).
- The Jennies placed four in the top 10 of the women's javelin. Addison Throckmorton was third with a provisional mark of 47.74m (156-8), Karsyn Kanzler was fourth at 46.53m (152-8 – provisional mark), Marley Sands was seventh at 42.52m (139-6 – personal best, seventh best in school history, provisional mark), and Kristen Jones was ninth at 41.45m (136-0 – personal best, eighth best in school history).
- Three Jennies placed in the top five of the women's shot put. Briley Wishard was runner-up with a mark of 13.55m (44-05.50), Mears was third at 13.47m (44-02.50), and Tailynn Buettgenbach was fifth at 11.67m (38-03.50).
- Jackson Rooney had a top 10 showing in the men's shot put, placing eighth with a mark of 14.20m (46-07.25).
Relays
In the final team scores, both the Mules and Jennies finished second. The Jennies compiled 123 points, while the Mules posted 118 points.
UCM Track & Field returns to action April 1-4 at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
