EMPORIA, Kan., and AUSTIN, Texas – University of Central Missouri Track & Field opened competition at the Emporia State Midwest Classic and the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Thursday, April 2, at Fracis G. Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kan., and the Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field in Austin, Texas.
ESU Midwest Classic
Throws
- The Jennies dominated the women's javelin at the Midwest Classic on Thursday, placing four student-athletes in the top 10 – all with provisional marks. Addison Throckmorton won the event with a mark of 49.11m (161-01), Ally Fox was third with a mark of 44.19m (144-11), Marley Sands was fifth with a personal best mark of 42.76m (140-03), and Karsyn Kanzler was seventh with a mark of 42.23m (138-06). Sands' mark of 42.76m is seventh-best in school history.
Multi-Events
- With four of seven events completed, the Jennies have two competitors in the top 10 of the women's heptathlon. Kristen Jones is in fourth with 2,759 points, while Marah Klover is in ninth with 2,610 points.
Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays
Throws
- Landon Mason was the third-highest Division II placer in the men's University/College division hammer at the Texas Relays, finishing 15th with a provisional mark of 57.70m (189-03).
UCM continues competition at both events on Friday, April 3.
