FIRST PITCH 
  • Central Missouri Jennies softball continues play with a non-conference doubleheader at home against the Maryville Saints (18-25, 10-10 GLVC) on Wednesday, April 17, from Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.  
  • The Jens went 1-3 last week on the road after splitting a pair of games with the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers on Friday, April 12, before falling in both contests against the Fort Hays State Tigers on Saturday, April 13.      
  • Wednesday's games against the Saints are Thrive Students Day at the ballpark. UCM's THRIVE program is a comprehensive transition and post secondary opportunity for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to empower students to become members of their communities and help gain skills to attain competitive integrated employment upon graduation.

INDIVIDUAL MILESTONES
  • Head Coach Susan Anderson collected her 700th career win in game two of their doubleheader sweep of Missouri – St. Louis (March 26) by a final score of 2-1. With the victory, Anderson secured win number 519 as head coach of the Jennies, which ranks second in program history.
  • Redshirt junior Paige Petefish pitched a perfect game in the 8-0 (5 inn.) victory over the Newman Jets (April 6) after tossing a no-hitter against the Lincoln Blue Tigers (March 19) in an 8-0 shutout win (5 inn.) striking out nine batters. Petefish currently ranks fifth all-time in saves (six) while her 43 wins in the circle is tied for fourth-most in program history.
  • Redshirt senior MaKenzie Cooper hit her first career grand slam in the 4-2 win over No. 3 Rogers State (March 29) after becoming the latest member of the 100 Hit Club against the Northwest Missouri Bearcats (4/28/2023). 
  • Freshman Taylor Thompson delivered her first career multi-homer outing in game one of a doubleheader against the Emporia State Hornets (March 23) as she drove in a career-best five RBI and scored twice going a perfect 4-for-4 at the dish.
  • Junior Laney Killpack belted her first career homerun leading off the bottom of the third inning in an 8-0 (5 inn.) victory over the Lincoln Blue Tigers (March 19).
  • Junior Hayden Serna hit her first career round-tripper in the bottom of the third inning on Tuesday, March 19 during an 8-0 (5 inn.) win in game one of a doubleheader against the Lincoln Blue Tigers.
  • Sophomore Andi Siebeneck collected her first career save in a 2-1 victory over the Bemidji State Beavers (March 15) tossing one hit-less inning of relief striking out one. 
  • Redshirt junior Breanna Newton hit her first home run as a Jen in game two of a doubleheader against No. 16 Pittsburg State (March 9).
  • Sophomore Carly Youngblood hit her first career home run in the top of the second inning in the 5-4 comeback victory over Illinois-Springfield (Feb. 9).
  • Freshman Brooke Weimer earned her first collegiate victory in the circle in a complete-game effort allowing six hits, four runs (three earned), while striking out 11 batters against Illinois-Springfield (Feb. 9) in a 5-4 victory. 
  • Senior Aubrie McRoberts collected career hit number 100 against the Rockhurst Hawks (4/17/2023).
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Maryville: Ahead of Wednesday's doubleheader against Maryville, the Jens are 6-4 overall dating back to the 1988 season with the latest meeting resulting in a 7-2 Saints victory on February 17, of 2018 in the opening game of the Emporia State Softball Classic.   
 
AROUND THE MIAA
  • Paige Petefish has allowed the second-fewest walks in the conference with 14, while her 28 runs allowed is fourth best in the MIAA.
  • Lexi Blackmon is tied for the second most triples in MIAA play with two this season while her four triples overall is sixth best in the conference.
  • Andi Siebeneck is tied for second in the conference with three saves on the year.
  • Aubrie McRoberts is tied for the second most triples in MIAA play with two.
  • Abby Allnutt has a 1.000 fielding percentage in MIAA play patrolling left field for the Jens.
  • Jadyn Sheffield's 85 assists ranks fifth in the MIAA.
  • Taylor Thompson's eight homers overall on the year is tied for seventh in the MIAA, while in MIAA play is fifth in home runs (five), fourth in RBI (22), and third in doubles (seven).
  • Brooke Weimer's 89 strikeouts over this season ranks ninth in the MIAA.
 
UCM DURING the ANDERSON ERA
  • Susan Anderson enters her 18th season as head coach of the Jennies where she is the second winningest coach in program history with a record of 504-376 (.572) becoming just the second coach in program history to eclipse 500 wins doing so in game two of a double header against Fort Hays State (April 16, 2023) on Senior Day.
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson has made 14 MIAA tournament appearances, five regional tournaments and one Elite Eight.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 18 first team All-MIAA selections, nine All-Region selections, two All-Americans and one MIAA MVP.
