WICHITA, Kan. – Brennen van Breusegen hit three homers and was one four players who tallied home runs as No. 2-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball rolled past the Newman Jets, 30-7 in seven innings, in game two of a three-game MIAA series Friday, March 29, at McCarthy Field.
The Mules (29-4, 17-2 MIAA) and Jets (7-27, 3-16) are slated to wrap up the series with a game Saturday, March 30, at 1 p.m. in Wichita.
The 30 runs in the contest were the most in a single game for UCM baseball since 2004 when the Mules plated a school record 32 runs against Washburn.
Van Breusegen fell one homer shy of tying the UCM single-game record of four, going 3-for-3 with three home runs and six RBIs, raising his season total to a team-best 13.

Brock Kobel (1) also hit homers in the contest. Kobel's round-tripper was the first of his collegiate career.
Max Holy was 4-for-6 with two doubles and three RBIs, while
Carter Young was 3-for-6 with a double, and Moore had three hits and five RBIs, rounding out the Central Missouri offensive leaders.
UCM starting pitcher
Jake Wilson (3-0) earned the win on the mound, allowing two earned runs on three hits with three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
Nick Baba had a home run and drove in two runs, pacing the Jets in the batter's box.
Newman starting pitcher Connor Rowe (0-8) suffered the setback on the rubber, surrendering 12 runs – 10 earned – on nine hits with two strikeouts and one walk in one inning.
