PITTSBURG, Kan. – Parker Wormek set a new school record in the 60m hurdles to highlight the final day of action at the Pittsburg State Gorilla Classic for UCM track & field Saturday, Feb. 10, inside the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kan.
Sprints/Hurdles
- Wormek ran a UCM school record time of 7.80 to finish third in the men's 60m hurdles. His time ranks second-fastest in NCAA-II this season.
- Chloee Belgum and Lilly Geelan both set new personal bests in the 800m run. Belgum ran 2:20.59 to finish 29th and Geelan was 34th at 2:20.87.
- Ty Lewis and Brady Maher both posted personal bests in the 800m run. Lewis was 58th at 1:58.57 while Maher was 60th at 1:59.08. Â
Jumps/Pole Vault
- Pierson Carlisle finished runner-up in the men's pole vault with a personal best mark of 4.97m (16-03.50). His height is seventh-best in UCM indoor history and 15th in NCAA-II this season.
- Simone Green, Maggie Klover and Kayla Goodwin finished fourth, fifth and sixth in the women's triple jump. Green recorded a provisional and personal best mark of 12.13m (39-09.75) to finish fourth while Klover had a provisional mark of 12.07m (39-07.25) for fifth and Goodwin was sixth with a provisional 11.92m (39-01.25). Green's mark ranks seventh in UCM indoor history and 11th in NCAA-II this season.
Throws
- Demarcus Kelow finished 11th in the men's shot put with a personal best mark of 15.56m (51-00.75).
Distance
- Evan Finger and Alejandro Molave both posted personal bests in the mile. Finger finished 24th with a time of 4:16.12 while Molave was 55th with a time of 4:23.81.
Relays
- The Jennies 4x400m relay of Kylee Terry, Goodwin, Lenetta Lee and Brooklynn Holtman finished second with a time of 3:46.87. That time ranks fourth-fastest in UCM indoor history and is 17th in NCAA-II this season.
UCM track & field is scheduled to return to action Feb. 16 when it travels to the Arkansas Qualifier and Northwest Missouri State Quad Meet.
