CLAREMORE, Okla. – Central Missouri Mules baseball split an MIAA doubleheader at Rogers State Saturday afternoon, March 25, at the Diamond Sports Complex, winning game one, 12-1 in seven innings, before dropping the second contest, 5-4.
The Mules (20-8, 12-3 MIAA) and Hillcats (19-9, 7-8 MIAA) are scheduled to play the series finale of the three-game series Sunday, March 26, at 1 p.m.
In the 12-1, run-rule win in game one, Central Missouri scored in all seven innings of the contest, including two runs in the first, second, third, sixth and seventh innings, and a run each in the fourth and fifth, rolling to the victory.
UCM right-handed starting pitcher 
Conner Wolf (5-2) earned the win on the mound in the opener, throwing the Mules' first complete game of the season and giving up just one earned run on three hits with four strikeouts and zero walks in seven innings.
John Prudhom paced UCM at the plate, falling a double shy of the cycle after going 3-for-4 with his team-high 10th homer of the season and a triple while tallying three runs scored and two RBI.
Vance Tobol added three hits, including a double, with three runs scored, 
Cole Moore, 
Brennen van Breusegen and 
Chase Heath each tallied two hits, and 
Carter Young drove in three runs, wrapping up the Central Missouri offensive leaders in game one.
In the 5-4 loss in game two, Rogers State broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the bottom of the third inning and never relinquished the lead.
Prudhom went 3-for-5 and Tobol was 2-for-5 with a homer, his seventh of the season, and two RBI, pacing Central Missouri offensive in the nightcap.
UCM right-handed reliever 
Adam Gray (1-2) suffered the setback on the rubber, surrendering one earned run on two hits in one inning of work.
