TOPEKA, Kan. – The Central Missouri Jennies (8-3, 0-0) defeated the Wayne State Wildcats (0-5, 0-0) by a final score of 14-5 (5 inn.) on Friday, Feb. 24, in the opening day of the Washburn Invite from the Lake Shawnee Softball Complex in Topeka, Kan.
After jumping out to a 4-0 lead after two innings of play, the Jennies plated five runs in back-to-back innings en route to the victory as Central Missouri hitters combined for 12 hits with eight different players registering one hit. This is the most runs the Jens have scored in a single game since March 10, of 2021 in a 16-5 (5 inn.) win over the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers.

The Jens return to the diamond on Saturday, Feb. 25, to conclude the Washburn Invite with a pair of games against Sioux Falls (S.D.) at 9:30 a.m. and St. Cloud State at 11:30 a.m. from Gahnstrom Field in Topeka, Kan.
