NEWTON, Kan. – No. 23-ranked Central Missouri Jennies golf sits in second place after the opening round of the MIAA Women's Golf Championship Thursday, April 21, at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.
The Jennies tallied an 18-hole team score of 19-over par 307 and are three strokes back of clubhouse leader Nebraska Kearney, which posted an opening round 16-over par 304. Northwest Missouri rounds out the top-three teams on day one and is third at 22-over par 310.
On the individual leaderboard,
Claire Solovic paces Central Missouri and is tied for second after posting an 18-hole 2-over par 74. Solovic parred all nine holes on the back nine after going 2-over par on the front nine.
Nicole Rallo is tied for 11th at 5-over par 77,
Rosie Klausner and
Hayley Jones are tied for 16th at 6-over par 78, and
Molly Saporito is tied for 28th at 8-over par 80, wrapping up the scoring for the Jennies.
Central Oklahoma's Susana Olivares sits atop the individual leaderboard after one round at 2-under par 70.
The Jennies will tee-off in round two of the tournament at 9:20 a.m. Friday, April 22.
