WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Central Missouri Jennies softball dropped its final game of The Spring Games Sunday, March 6, at the Diamond Plex Softball Complex, falling to Saginaw Valley State, 6-4.
The Jennies (5-12) are slated to open MIAA play at Missouri Southern with a doubleheader at 3 p.m. Friday, March 11, in Joplin, Mo.
Abbey Fischer went 2-for-3 with a double, while
MaKenzie Cooper added a 2-for-3 showing with an RBI, leading Central Missouri at the plate.
Sadie Parks (1-4) took the loss in the circle for UCM after giving up six earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts and no walks in 1 2/3 innings.
Sara Moos had two hits, including a homer, and drove in a pair of runs, pacing the Cardinals offensively (5-2).
Jaclyn Groves (2-1) earned the win for SVSU, allowing four runs – two earned – on six hits with three strikeouts and a walk in 4 1/3 innings while Julia Mundy picked up the save after throwing 2 2/3 scoreless innings in relief.
