Jennies Extend Winning Streak to Five with 60-43 Victory at Rogers State

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Brooke Littrell and Nija Collier each recorded double-doubles and Charley Bovaird drilled four three-pointers leading Central Missouri Jennies basketball to a 60-43 win over the Rogers State Hillcats Saturday afternoon at the Claremore Expo Center.

The Jennies (14-6, 10-3 MIAA), winners of five-in-a-row and six of their last seven contests, are scheduled to return home to the Multipurpose Building for a 5:30 p.m. MIAA game against Missouri Western Wednesday, Jan. 26.

Littrell, a redshirt freshman forward from Green City, Mo., tallied her 11th double-double of 2021-22 with a game-best 19 points and 13 rebounds while Collier, a redshirt senior forward from Roseville, Mich., notched her team and MIAA-best 12 double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 boards.

A redshirt freshman guard from Lincoln, Neb., Bovaird netted 13 points, including drilling four treys. Olivia Nelson dished out a game-high seven assists and added a pair of steals, and Collier added a game-best three blocks.

The Jennies shot only 36 percent from the floor (20-of-56) and 33 percent from three-point range (6-of-18), but owned the glass, outrebounding the Hillcats (7-12, 3-10 MIAA) 40-29, including 15 offensive boards, and outscored Rogers State in the paint, 24-16. UCM also had a 6-2 advantage in blocks.

In addition, Central Missouri converted 14 free-throws on 21 attempts while Rogers State took just two foul shots in the contest, making one.
