WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Brooke Littrell scored a career-high 35 points, but it wasn't enough, as Central Missouri Jennies basketball fell to No. 25 Missouri Western, 82-77 in overtime, Wednesday, Jan. 26, inside the Multipurpose Building.
The Jennies (14-7, 10-4 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Maryville, Mo., for a 1:30 p.m. MIAA game at Northwest Missouri State Saturday, Jan. 29.
A redshirt freshman forward from Green City, Mo., Littrell posted her career-best 35 points on a 13-of-25 shooting from the floor and a perfect 9-for-9 performance at the free-throw line. In addition, she snagged a team-best nine rebounds.
Nija Collier (24 points) and
Olivia Nelson (12 points) also reached double figures in scoring for UCM in the game.
The Jennies shot 41 percent from the floor (26-for-64) and were 73 percent at the free-throw line (22-of-30) but went just 17 percent from three-point range (3-for-18).
Central Missouri outscored Missouri Western (15-3, 9-3 MIAA) in the paint, 36-30, but were outrebounded by the Griffons, 44-36.
Missouri Western shot 39 percent from the field (22-of-57), 41 percent from beyond-the-arc (7-of-17) and were 31-for-36 at the foul line for 86 percent, including 14-of-16 in overtime.
Brionna Budgetts netted 20 points, leading the Griffons.
