
SMYRNA, Tenn. (March 7, 2021) - Central Missouri Jennies Bowling finished the Music City Classic with three bracket games Sunday afternoon. The Jennies finished in eighth place in bracket play. They went 7-5 for the weekend averaging 189.8 pins and totaling 12,337.
The weekend started Friday with five Baker format games. The Jennies went 4-0Â defeating No. 12 Tulane 999-878, No.19 Valparaiso (971-926), No. 2 Vanderbilt (971-948), and Spalding (953-814). The Jennies also played an open game where they bowled a 930 on day one.
UCM continued to bowl well on day two.Â
Paytynn Kuhns had a tremendous day in traditional format games. She averaged 214 for five games and finished fourth individually making the All-Tournament team. She had three games over 200 with a high of 258 coming in game five.
UCM started day two with a win over Stephen F. Austin. The Jennies rolled 1,009 to SFA 921. The Jennies continued on winning over Tusculum 973-816. UCM also defeated Alabama-Birmingham 1,002-947 in their final game of the day.Â
The Jens started bracket play as the number six team. They took on 16th ranked and No. 5 in the bracket Stephen F. Austin. The Jennies suffered a 4-0 loss and went on to play Tulane. The Jennies took two games from 17th ranked and No. 8 in the bracket Tulane, but dropped the best-of-seven in six games. The Jennies finished the day with a five-set loss to No. 8 ranked and seventh in the bracket Sam Houston State.Â
In addition to Kuhns,
Cayla Bortz also averaged better than 200 pins totaling 1,007 in five games to place 17th.
Tatum Ruffalo was 30th averaging 194.0.
The Jennies have another big tournament on deck next weekend, March 12-14 at the Mid-Winter Invitational in Jonesboro, Ark., hosted by Arkansas State.Â
