Jennies Softball Finishes Regular Season With Senior Weekend

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (April 25, 2019) - The 2019 Softball regular season is coming to a close this weekend. The Central Missouri Jennies will host Lincoln and Lindenwood for their final two doubleheaders.

Schedule Change
• Please note the doubleheader Saturday, April 27 has been moved back one hour to 1 p.m. due to rain in the forecast for Saturday morning.

Senior Day
• Between games Saturday, Central Missouri will honor their six seniors with a special on-field ceremony.

Leading Off
• The Jennies will host Lincoln and Lindenwood in the final weekend of the regular season with their game against the Lions also being Senior Day, as they will recognize their six seniors. 
• Central Missouri swept Northwest Missouri on Tuesday in their final road games by scores of 10-9 and 10-4.
•The Jennies moved into a tie for third in the MIAA standings with just four games left to play. 
• The MIAA Tournament will begin next Wednesday in Edmond, Okla. 
•Central Missouri was picked to finish third in the 2019 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll. The Jennies tallied 141 points in the poll.
• 2019 will mark the 48th season of Jennies softball. It will also be the 13th season under the direction of Head Coach Susan Anderson.

Anderson vs. the Opponents 

• Against Lincoln, the Jennies are 15-2 under Coach Anderson. UCM has won 10 straight with the Blue Tigers last win coming in 2013. Lindenwood is one of the few opponents Coach Anderson has a losing record against. The Jennies are 7-8 against the Lions after being swept on the road last season.

Last Time Out
• The Jennies swept Northwest Missouri on Tuesday 10-9 and 10-4. They handed the Bearcats their first home losses of the season. Alexa Bradley picked up wins in both ends of the doubleheader and UCM slugged four home runs. 

Milestones
• Alexa Bradley became the eighth pitcher to ever reach 400 innings pitched. She is 6.1 away from moving to 7th all-time She's also closing in on 100 appearances and is just 5 away.
• Hailey Crabtree is 10 RBI away from 100.
• Taylor Dames and Alexis Koop are each four hits away from 100. 
• Lauryn Deer is in reach of the Jennies single season hits record. She has 65 this season, setting a new career-high. That's two away from sixth-most in a single season and 17 shy of Lauren Mabe's record. Deer's 24 stolen bases are also 10th all-time. With six more, she'd become the second Jennie to ever steal 30 bases in a single season, joining Ali Jo Rogers. With seven more she'll move into the UCM top-five for a career.

MIAA Leaders
• Lauryn Deer is third in the MIAA with 65 hits. She is also 2nd in the league with 24 SB. 
• Right behind Deer in stolen bases is Ashlyn Cook who is third with 21 and tied for fourth with 15 doubles. 
• Hailey Crabtree's seven triples are tied for the most in the MIAA. 
• Jessica Sader is sixth in the league with 38 runs batted in. 
• Both Gentry Wishard and Alexa Bradley are in the MIAA top-10 in ERA. Wishard is sixth with a 2.74 ERA and Bradley 10th at 2.95.

Extra Bases
• With her seven triples, Hailey Crabtree is tied for third all-time at UCM for a single season. 
• The Jennies have hit 36 home runs this season, their most since hitting 53 in 2015.
• Ashlyn Cook's 15 doubles are tied for fourth in the MIAA and are tied for the 10th most in a single season at UCM. 
• The Jennies have picked up 38 more extra base hits than their opponents this season.

Do it with Two
• The Jennies have driven in 82 two-out RBI's this season. Ashlyn Cook leads the team with 18 and Jessica Sader has 13.
• UCM is doing a good job of extending innings. They are hitting .317 as a team with two outs. Lauryn Deer is batting .412 and Ashlyn Cook is up to .442.
• Jennies pitchers are closing out innings, as opponents are hitting just .262 with two outs. 

Late and Close
• The Jennies have been excellent in close games this season with an 9-5 record in one-run games and 7-3 in two-run games.
• UCM is outscoring their opponents 70-40 after the fifth inning on and 8-3 in extra innings. 

Who's Hot
• Alexa Bradley and Gentry Wishard each have two wins in the last week.
• Ashlyn Cook and Hailey Crabtree have both driven in seven runs in their last six games.
• UCM has hit seven home runs in six games and are hitting .374 as a team.
• Lauryn Deer has 10 hits in her last 23 at bats.

Scouting the Opposition
Lincoln

• Lincoln is last in the MIAA with a 4-42 record. They have just one conference win, that came against Emporia State on March 8. They've also lost 28 straight games.
• The Blue Tigers are hitting .276 as a team led by Camryn Pryor's .381. She has three home runs.
• Rachel Balke leads the team in power with five long balls and 25 RBI.
• Shannon Green has been their best pitcher with a 7.80 ERA and 47 strikeouts. 

Lindenwood
• The Lions are one of the hotter teams in the league, winnners of five straight. they are 11-11 in the MIAA and still in the hunt for a spot in the postseason.
• Lindenwood is led by Stormee Galka both at the plate and in the circle. She's hitting .378 with 34 runs scored. She has also started 20 games and is 14-6 with a 3.50 ERA.
• Austine Pauley leads the club with seven home runs and has driven in 26 runs. 
• Caitlyn Touchette has slugged five homers and driven in a team-high 28.
• Lindenwood has a .965 fielding percentage, one of the best in the MIAA.
• Madison Corwell has gotten eight starts on the rubber with a 4-3 record and 2.93 ERA. Marina Esparza has started six times and is 5-3 with 27 strikeouts.
