Play-by-Play
• Making his first career start as a Mule,
Tyler Kuhlmann's day didn't begin as planned. He gave up a home run to the first batter of the game. The ball went off the glove of
Micah Evans in left and over the fence for a leadoff home run.
• Kuhlmann ended up striking out the side to get through the first.
• In the second, Kuhlmann served up another long ball, this time a two-run shot as the Lions took a 3-0 lead.

• Central Missouri got on the board in the third, scoring a run on an error. With
Cole Taylor on second,
Zak Whalin grounded out to move him up, but the first baseman's throw back to third sailed high and allowed Taylor to trot on in.
• An inning later, the Mules again took advantage of the Lions poor defense. Webb led off with a pop fly double. The double fell between four Lion defenders in shallow center. Webb then moved to third when a pick off attempt went into center field. He made it 3-2 when
Michael Sinks' sacrifice fly brought him in.
• Central Missouri took their first lead in the fifth. With two outs and two on, Webb drove the first pitch he saw well over the fence in left for a three-run home run, putting UCM on top 5-3.
• It was now the Lions turn to play comeback. They scored a run in the sixth on an RBI single and one more in the seventh to tie courtesy of a sacrifice fly.
• The Mules though scored five runs in their final two turns at.
Micah Evans, yesterday's hero, came up with another big two-out hit. This time to drive in two and put the Mules back on top, 7-5.
•
Mason Janvrin drove in two more in the eighth with a double and later scored on Webb's RBI single, giving the Mules a five-run lead, 10-5.
• There was some drama in the ninth. After
Luke Mercer got the first two batters out, two hit-by-pitches and a single loaded the bases. Mercer escaped the inning getting a strikeout to end the game.
