As a Junior: Made 16 appearances and three starts on the mound for UCM … In 26 innings went 3-0 with a 4.15 ERA and 30 strikeouts … Led UCM in strikeout-to-walk ratio at 6:1 with 30 strikeouts and just five walks … Averaged 10.4 strikeouts/nine innings … Earned his first win throwing 2.2 innings allowing one run with five strikeouts against Colorado-Colorado Springs (Feb. 9) … Struck out five in back-to-back appearances against Colorado-Springs and Winona State (Feb. 18) … Named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

Before UCM: Played for two seasons at Iowa central Community College under head coach Justin Meyer ... earned Third Team A-Conference Pitcher accolades one season ... helped his team win a Region 11 Championship.

In High School: Was a five year letterwinner in high school ... earned First Team All-Conference honors at pitcher three times ... earned First Team All-Dallas County accolades at pitcher twice ... also competed in basketball, football, and golf. 

Personal: Son of Becky and Darcy Kearns .. majoring in accounting.
