WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Dec. 19, 2019) - Central Missouri Mules Football earned a number of All-American awards this week. Three players took home five awards from the Associated Press (AP) and the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA).
Zach Davidson made the First Team by both publications. The junior tight ends has earned three First Team All-American awards this season adding these two to the AFCA All-American award. He is also earned an All-American award in 2018, bringing his career total to four. Davidson finished the year with 40 catches for 894 yards and 15 touchdowns. He is in the NCAA top-10 in yards per reception at 22.35 yards per catch. His 15 receiving touchdowns are seventh in the NCAA and are second all-time for a single-season in Mules history. Davidson caught four touchdown passes against Missouri Southern, tying a Mules single-game record. In 13 games, Davidson eclipsed 100 yards three times and caught a touchdown in nine games.Â
Quarterback
Brook Bolles also received a pair of awards. He made both the AP and D2CCA All-American Second Teams. Bolles, a senior quarterback, is also a finalist for the 2019 Harlon Hill trophy. This is his third All-American award this season, making the Second Team on the AFCA All-American Team. These three All-American awards give him five for his career joining two he earned in 2017. Bolles was already the first Mules quarterback to earn All-American awards in more than one season. He was this season's MIAA and D2CCAÂ Regional Offensive Player of the Year.Â
Bolles threw for 4,290 yards this season completing 235-of-419 passes with 42 touchdown passes. He is second in the NCAA in passing touchdowns and third in passing yards. Those numbers put him second all-time in Mules history for a single season. Bolles also added 228 rushing yards and four scores on the ground. His 18.26 yards per completion lead the nation and his 347.5 yards of total offense per game rank third in the country. In 12 games Bolles threw for more than 200 yards 11 times, he surpassed 300 yards in eight games and 400 yards in three. He set a new UCM record throwing for 506 yards in the Mules win at Missouri Western, the first 500-yard passing game in team history.
Earning his first career All-American award is
Shae Wyatt. The sophomore wide receiver had a breakout season en route to earning Second Team Honors from the AP. Wyatt caught 65 passes for 1,452 yards and 12 touchdowns, all of which are in the top-five for a single season in Mules history. Wyatt is currently fourth in Division II in receiving yards and finished just seven yards shy of setting a new single-season school record. A big-play threat, Wyatt averaged 22.34 yards per catch which is eighth in Division II. Wyatt surpassed 100 receiving yards in eight of 12 games with a high of 226 coming at Emporia State, the third most in a game in team history. He caught a touchdown pass in nine games and had four games with two touchdowns.
