KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 29, 2018) - This morning the MIAA announced the recipients of their academic awards for student-athletes competing in winter sport programs. The league sent out award winners for their Academic Excellence Award and Scholar Athlete Award.
To earn MIAA Academic Excellence, student-athletes must achieve a cumulative 4.0 grade point average or better and have at least two terms of attendance at their current institution (excluding summer terms). In order to earn the MIAA Scholar Athlete Award, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher, at least two terms of attendance at their current institution (excluding summer terms), and, if competing in an MIAA championship sport, earn All-MIAA honors.
Central Missouri saw six student-athletes earn the Academic Excellence Award and 10 be named MIAA Scholar-Athletes.
Awards for 2017-18 freshman and newcomers, along with the MIAA Academic Honor Roll recipients will be released at the end of the 2017-18 academic year.
