As a Redshirt Sophomore: Tied for most wins on the season with eight...Finished 8th at the Luther Hill Invited were he earned two major decision wins 10-1 and 12-1...Went 7-8 on the year...Named to the NWCA All-Academic Team, the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and earned MIAA Academic Excellence Award honors with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

As a Redshirt Freshman: Hampton went 16-18 on the season, with a dual record of 5-8. His best finish during the season was at the Luther Hill Invite where he placed first at 197 pounds. He earned the MIAA Academic Excellence Award for his 4.0 GPA last season. Hampton was also named to the NWCA All-Academic Team for his dedication in the classroom.

Hampton redshirted the 2016-17 season but competed unattached at opens. He was named the MIAA Academic Honor Roll for his work in the classroom and earned the MIAA Academic Excellence Award

In High School: Hampton comes to Central Missouri after graduating from Raytown Senior High School in Raytown, Mo. Hampton was four year letter winner. In his senior season he was a Class 4 state champion at 220 lbs, First Team All-State, a  Class 4 district champion, First Team All-Conference, and district wrestler of the year. He was named a team captain in his senior season and earned Academic All-State honors. Hampton also competed in football, lettering twice, and track, lettering three times.
