KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 12, 2018) - The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) released this afternoon their 2018 fall academic award winners. There were more than 800 total student-athletes to receive academic honors with 100 scholar-athletes and more than 60 Academic Excellence Award winners.
This year, the MIAA went back to announcing the MIAA Academic Honor Roll recipients for each season, as opposed to all sports at the end of the year. Central Missouri saw 67 make the list which requires a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and at least two semesters of attendance at the certifying institution, excluding summer terms.Â
The Mules and Jennies had seven named scholar-athletes. To achieve that honor, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.5 GPA, while also being named to the All-MIAAÂ team in their sport and have two terms of attendance at their institution. Those who earned he MIAA Scholar Athlete award for UCM:Â

The final MIAA academic award is the MIAA Academic Excellence Award. To earn this award, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of a 4.0, along with two terms of attendance at their institution. Those who earned the MIAAÂ Academic Excellence Award for UCM;

The MIAA academic award for fall student-athletes reflects grades through the summer 2018 term. Freshman and transfer student-athletes academic awards will be announced at the end of the 2018-19 academic year.Â
