BOLIVAR, Mo. (Sept. 2, 2016) - Central Missouri's Cross Country team's got underway Friday evening at the Southwest Baptist Invitational. The men took second place overall out of eight teams and the Jennies were third out of nine.
In the men's 8K race,
Ian Frazier was the top finisher, placing in the top-10 in ninth place. He ran 24:39.34. Two other Mules finished in the top-15 with
Ben Sporleder and
Ty Hughes finishing 13th and 14th, respectively. Sporleder crossed the finish line in 25:25.51 and Hughes was right behind him in 25:27.37.
Kenny Froebe (25:52.76),
Austin Larsen (25:53.22) and
Justin Howard (25:55.51) all finished in a pack in 25-27th place.
Ryan Skopec rounded out the top-seven in his first collegiate race in 26:19.59.
For the Jennies,
Jana Palmowski led the way in her first collegiate cross country race. She took ninth place overall with a time of 19:22.72 for the 5K race.
Nicole Svendsen claimed a top-15 spot in 13th place, running a time of 19:45.85.
Stephanie Boan (20:07.50) and
Amy Marx (20:13.69).
Yesenia Gomez was the final scorer for the Jennies with a time of 20:39.46.
Jami Clay (20:43.85) and
Jodi Pedersen (20:48.44) round out the top-seven.
Both teams are back in action Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo.
