JOPLIN, Mo. – University of Central Missouri Mules & Jennies Cross Country had a pair of runners finish in the top 50 to pace both teams in the NCAA Division II Central Regional Meet Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course on the Missouri Southern State University campus.
The Jennies were paced by
Marianna Bizon, who finished in 45th place in a field of 235 competitors with a 6K personal-best time of 22:16.5, while
Alejandro Malave led the Mules, also finishing 45th out of 202 runners with a 10K personal-best time of 32:06.4.
For the Mules,
Jaise Bardwell,
Patrick Hardesty,
Kollin Tidman, and
Colby Adams joined Malave in the top 100. Bardwell was 78th with a personal-best 32:54.3, Hardesty was 90th with a personal-best 33:11.0, Tidman was 91st with a personal-best 33:11.4, and Adams was 97th with a personal-best 33:21.9.
Ty Lewis (34:43.5) and
Sam Mathis (34:46.7) also ran personal-best times at the meet.
Daniella Gonzalez (26:07.6) and
Kayli Cameron (26:30.9) both compiled personal-best times for the Jennies.
As a team, the Mules placed 13th with 444 points while the Jennies were 31st with 889 points.
Winona State captured the women's team championship with 99 points, and East Central won the men's title with 54 points.
