The Mules
• Central Missouri enters the non-conference doubleheader with Drury at 19-14 overall and 15-9 in MIAA play after sweeping Lincoln in a four-game series over the weekend. The Mules have won five straight games.
• The Mules are hitting .277 as a team with 41 doubles, 12 triples, 13 home runs and 166 RBI. The Mules have drawn 120 walks on the season with 179 strikeouts.
• Trevor Jones leads all eligible hitters with a .371 average to go along with six doubles, five triples, a home run and 21 RBI.
• Tony Sandifer is hitting .306 and is tied for the team lead with three home runs. He is tied with Jones for the team lead with six doubles and 21 RBI.

• Carlos D'Armas is 1-1 with a staff-leading 3.03 earned run average in eight appearances and seven starts. He's struck out a team-leading 48 batters in 38.2 innings and is holding opponents to a .201 batting average.
• Tyler House is 3-2 with a 3.80 ERA in eight starts. He's tied with D'Armas for the team lead with 48 strikeouts in 42.2 innings and has UCM's only complete-game this season.
• Austin Southmayd has a 0.84 ERA in 10.2 innings pitched over seven relief appearances.
• Lucas Williams is 4-2 with a 2.52 earned run average in 11 relief appearances. He picked up a win and a save in the UCO series.
• Trevor Ezell has a team-leading seven saves on the year. He has 20 striketouts in 17.2 innings pitched over 13 relief appearances.
• The UCM defense has committed 38 errors and has a .967 fielding percentage. The Mules have turned 18 double plays on the year.

Worth Noting
• The sweep of Lincoln was the first series sweep this season for the Mules.
• UCM has now won back-to-back conference series after splitting the first four to start the year.
• The Mules hit .463 as a team during the Lincoln series, including .500 (29-of-58) with runners in scoring position.
• Senior outfielder Trevor Jones was named to the NCBWA Preseason All-Central Region Second Team.

Last time out
    April 4, 2015 - (WARRENSBURG, Mo.) -- The Mules continued their hot hitting in a 14-0 win over Lincoln on Saturday afternooon at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field. The win gives the Mules their first series sweep of the season.
    The Mules (19-14, 15-9 MIAA) wasted no time in jumping on top of the Blue Tigers (1-29, 1-19 MIAA), scoring four runs in the top of the first. Tony Sandifer got things rolling with an RBI single, Derek Cornell had an RBI single and John Oliver added a two-run double.
    The Mules doubled their lead with four more runs in the third to take an 8-0 lead. J. Oliver drew a bases-loaded walk to drive in the first run of the frame. Colin Frederick added a sac fly to score the second run of the inning before Jackson Schnurbusch added an RBI single and Trevor Jones had an RBI groundout.
    Colton Hilbrenner's RBI single and Schnurbusch' two-run single in the fourth made it 11-0 UCM and Cornell added a sacrifice fly in the fifth for a 12-0 advantage. The Mules tacked on two more runs in the sixth on Brad Jelinek's RBI double and Cornell's RBI single for the 14-0 final.
    That was more than enough for starter Ricky Rivera (4-2), who allowed just two hits over five innings to earn his fourth win of the season. He struck out two and didn't walk a batter as his won his third straight decision. Austin Southmayd and Tayler Ross each tossed a scoreless inning of relief, with Ross striking out three batters in the seventh.
    Cornell, J. Oliver and Schnurbusch each drove in three runs in the game with Cornell going 3-for-3 and also scoring three runs. With the win, their fifth straight, the Mules have moved in to third place in the MIAA standings with 12 games remaining in conference play.

Mules in MIAA play
• The Mules are 15-9 in MIAA play under first-year head coach Kyle Crookes after sweeping Lincoln in a four-game series last weekend.
• It was the first series win of the year for UCM after having split each of their first four conference series of the season.
• The Mules were 32-8 in conference play last year as they captured the 24th MIAA Regular Season championship in program history and the 16th in the last 21 seasons.

Mules in non-conference action
• The Mules are 4-5 in non-conference games this season after falling 6-3 to Emporia State last Tuesday.
• UCM was 3-8 in non-conference games last season.

The Mules at home
• The Mules are 9-4 at home this season after winning all four games against Lincoln last weekend.
• UCM was 18-5 at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field last year.
• The Mules are 749-148-1 (.835) in 898 games played in this, their 40th season playing home games at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field.

Mules on the road

Crookes era underway
• The Mules are 19-14 in the early going of Kyle Crookes' first season as head coach of the Central Missouri program.
• The Mules were 71-29 in his two seasons as an assistant coach and captured the 2014 MIAA Regular Season Championship. The Mules garnered five First Team All-MIAA selections and three All-America honors during his two years as an assistant.
• Crookes compiled a 292-164 overall record in eight seasons as the head coach at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College before taking over as an assistant coach at UCM.

Mules Baseball history
• In the 60th season of UCM baseball the Mules have compiled a 1,778-700-9 (.717) record in 2,487 games played. The Mules have won 40 or more games 17 times, including 14 straight seasons from 1999-2012, and have won 50 or more games nine times.
• The Mules have won or shared 24 MIAA championships, 16 regional titles and two national championships.

Mules Baseball: Winningest Team of the 2000s
• The Central Missouri baseball program has had unprecedented success in the last 25 years and has been even more impressive since the year 2000. The Mules were the winningest team in all divisions of the NCAA by victories (508) and percentage (.814, 508-116) from 2000-09. That success has continued through the 2010s.
• The Mules are 747-189 (.798) since the year 2000. An average of 49 wins per season over the last 15 years.

A Tradition of Excellence in Athletics
• Following the winter sports seasons, Central Missouri has won a combined 203 MIAA regular-season conference championships in 14 league sports to lead all schools.
• During the 2013-14 year, UCM captured seven MIAA regular season titles, the most of any school in one season in league history, and the second time Central Missouri has accomplished the feat.
• Since 1983, the tenure of Athletic Director Jerry Hughes, UCM has won or shared 146 MIAA championships, more than any other league school.
• Central Missouri has won seven national championships since 1980 (men's and women's basketball in 1984, baseball in 1994 and 2003, women's bowling in 2003, men's basketball in 2014 and women's indoor track & field in 2015) and nine national championships overall.

A Tradition of Excellence in the Classroom
• Central Missouri had 220 student-athletes named to the 2013-14 MIAA Academic Honor Roll with grade point averages of 3.0 or higher.
• 41 UCM student-athletes were named MIAA Scholar Athletes with at least a 3.5 GPA and having earned all-MIAA honors in their respective sport.
• 17 UCM student-athletes were named MIAA Academic Excellence Award winners with a 4.0 GPA.
• UCM had 12 student-athletes earn Academic All-Region awards in their respective sports with seven of those earning CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.

Upcoming
• The Mules continue their seven-game road swing as they travel to Topeka, Kansas this weekend, April 10-12, for a four-game MIAA series with Washburn.
• The road trip wraps up on Wednesday, April 15 with a single non-conference game at Emporia State. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at the Trusler Sports Complex in Emporia.
• UCM returns home on Friday, April 17 to host Northeastern State in the first game of a four-game MIAA series. First pitch on Friday night is set for 6 p.m. at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field.
