JOPLIN, Mo. - Central Missouri Cross Country concluded their season at the NCAA Regional Championships in Joplin, Mo. The Mules ran a 10K race and placed 12
th as a team with 296 points while the Jennies placed 20
th with 559 points.

Michael Gawlick was the Mules top finisher and named All-Region by placing 13
th overall. He ran a personal-best time of 31:05.78 for 10K.
Ty Hughes was also named to the All-Region team by placing 22
nd in 31:19.15, cutting off two minutes from his 10K time at the 2014 regional.

Michael Frazier ran his first 10K and finished in 82
nd place in the 176-man field, running 32:43.83 and was the third Mule to cross the line.
Justin Howard (32:52.16) and
Ian Frazier (32:54.54) finished in 89
th and 90
th to complete the UCM scoring.

Senior
Coleen Grone led the Jennies through the 6K course. She crossed the line in 23:19.40, more than two minutes faster than her time at the 2014 regional meet, and finished 79
th overall in the field of 208.
Stephanie Boan also set a personal-best for the 6K, she finished 85
th in 23:25.21.

Nicole Svendsen and
Yesenia Gomez, who also competed at the regional last year, ran a season-best for the 6K. Svendsen was the third Jennie to place, running 24:08.27 and finishing 120
th while Gomez ran a personal-best 24:21.20 and placed 131
st.
Alyx Flippin rounded out the scoring for UCM, finishing 152
nd and running 24:47.84, which also bests her 6K time from the MIAA Championships two weeks ago.

Augustana was the Central Region Champion on the men's side. They scored 82 points. Vincent Kiprop from Missouri Southern was the individual champion, running 29:39.92. Kiprop and Fort Hays' Cory Keehn, who finished second in 29:51.74 were the only two runners to finish in under 30 minutes.

Southwest Baptist won the region for the women, scoring 79 points. Alexis Zeis of the University of Mary was the individual champion, running 20:08.31.
