With the victories, the Jennies improve to 10-8 on the season and 5-3 in MIAA play. The win also puts UCM head coach Susan Anderson one victory away from 400 in her career.

In game one, the Jennies fell behind, 1-0 in the top of the second after Chantel Adams hit a solo homerun to left field.

Central Missouri answered with four of their own in the bottom of the third on an error by the rightfielder that plated Jessica Neely from second. Lindsey Dawson capped off the inning with a three-run homer, her first of the season.

In the top of the fourth, Kristen Uthe connected on a two-run homerun to pull Northwest Missouri to within 4-3.

In the home half of the fourth, Brittany Knabe scored the fifth Jennies run on an RBI groundout by Ali Jo Rogers, giving UCM a 5-3 edge.

Jakki Prater hit her team-leading 11th homerun of the season in the bottom of the fifth, a two-run shot to put UCM up by four runs.

The Jennies clinched the victory in the bottom of the sixth with four runs on three hits and an error by the pitcher that allowed two Jennies to cross homeplate.

Katie Shockley earned the win in game one to improve to 3-1 on the season. She went six innings, and allowed two runs on three hits. She walked two batters and fanned six Bearcats.

In game two, the Bearcats got on the board first again on an RBI single by Baylee Scarbrough in the top of the second inning.

UCM answered with a run in the home half of the second on an RBI double by Jessica Neely that plated pinch-runner Brittany Knabe.

Rogers helped manufacture UCM's second run in the third inning, leading off with a single and swiping second. Two batters later, she would score on an error by the pitcher during Dawson's at-bat.

The Jennies tacked on four more runs in the fourth, sending eight batters to the plate. After the first three batters reached base, Emily King singled home the first run. Madison Hood, pinch-hitting for Rogers, drew a bases loaded walk, followed by an RBI groundout by Bivens back to the pitcher. The ensuing hitter, Dawson grounded out to shortstop, plating Emily King from third base, giving UCM a 6-1 advantage.

UCM's final run that ended the game in the bottom of the sixth came via a throwing error by the second baseman with runners on second and third.

The Jennies will embark on an eight-game road trip, beginning with a trip to Missouri S&T on Tuesday, March 18 for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
