Opponent Preview
Pittsburg State (16-15, 6-10 MIAA) finished the 2013 regular season ranked eighth in the MIAA. Pittsburg State won their last match against Missouri Southern, 25-13, 25-13, 25-17. The Gorillas hit .322 in the match with 41 kills, two serving aces, and eleven blocks. The Gorilla average 12.0 kills per set, 11.4 assists per set, 17.5 digs per set, and 1.9 blocks per set.
The Jennies (29-1, 15-1 MIAA) last played Pittsburg State in early Oct. Central Missouri beat the Gorillas in four sets, 25-14, 22-25, 25-20, 25-17. The Jennies hit .327 as a team, with 74 kills. They also had 68 assists, 60 digs, six blocks, and five serving aces.
Carly Sojka and
Taylor Goodness finished the match with 21 kills each. Sojka hit .378 in the match, with a serving ace and block. Goodness hit .410 in the match, with a block.
Julia Bates had a double-double with 55 assists and 12 digs. She also had two serving aces, two blocks and seven kills with a .357 hitting percentage.
Annie Reilly had 24 digs, and two serving aces in the match.
Haley Thompson had three blocks, and eight kills.
Maddie Jones had eight kills, and two blocks.
Becca Blaise had nine kills and hit .412, with a block. The Jennies have won their last eight matches against Pittsburg State.
Last Week
The Jennies swept both of their matches last week against No. 7 Nebraska Kearney, 25-21, 25-21, 25-18, and Fort Hays State, 25-9, 25-18, 27-25, to clinch a share of the conference title. Against the Lopers the Jennies had 44 kills, six serving aces and eight blocks. As a team they hit .214, had 37 assists and 62 digs. In the title-clinching match against Fort Hays State the Jennies had 52 kills, seven serving aces, and seven blocks. As a team they hit .325, and had 42 assists and 48 digs.

Jennies in the Polls
The Central Missouri Jennies volleyball team was ranked No. 5 for the fourth week in a row in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. The Jennies received 1001 points in the poll after sweeping Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State last week.
Nebraska-Kearney drops to No. 11, and had 735 points. The Lopers also lost their match to Washburn last week. Washburn is up three spots to No. 8 with 802 points. Concordia-St. Paul fell to No. 3, Tampa took the top spot with 1179 points. The next AVCA poll will be final poll of the season, and will be released Dec. 16.
MIAA Specialist of the Week
Julia Bates was named the MIAA Specialist of the Week for the third time this season. Bates averaged 11.00 assists, 2.00 digs and 1.83 kills per set as the Jennies clinched a share of the MIAA title with two wins last week. She hit .375 on the week. In the sweep of No. 7 Nebraska-Kearney she had 34 assists, seven digs, three kills, two blocks and two serving aces. In the MIAA title-clinching sweep of Fort Hays State, Bates had 32 assists, eight kills, five digs, two aces, and a block. Bates has 1,149 assists this season, and 5,149 assists in her career. Bates is fifth on the Jennies All-Time Assists list. Earlier in the season Bates was named to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District First Team.
Central Missouri Jennies
The Jennies average 14.8 kills per set, 13.3 assists per set, and 15.7 assists per set. They also average 2.0 blocks per set, and 1.8 serving aces per set, and have a .280 hitting percentage as a team. The Jennies have the highest hitting percentage in the MIAA, along with the highest kills per set average and the most total serving aces in the MIAA. In the NCAA, the Jennies are 29th in aces, and fifth in kills and hitting percentage. The Jens are also second in the MIAA in assists, and 11th in the NCAA.
Taylor Goodness is first in the MIAA in kills, averaging 3.99 kills per set, and has the 10th highest hitting percentage in the MIAA at .301. Goodness is 17th nationally in kills.
Haley Thompson has the third highest hitting percentage in the conference at .331.
Julia Bates is third in the MIAA in assists, with 11.05 assists per set, and second in serving aces, with 48 total aces this season. In the NCAA, Bates is 22nd in assists, and 38th in aces.
Annie Reilly leads the MIAA in aces with 64 total aces this season, and is third in digs, averaging 5.33 digs per set. Nationally Reilly is eighth in serving aces, and 29th in digs.

Maddie Mosier leads the Gorillas in kills, with 2.75 kills per set on average. She also averages 1.39 digs per set, and 0.59 blocks per set. Hayley Hansford averages 9.83 assists per set, 1.96 digs per set, and has 37.0 blocks this season. Kristen Erikson leads Pittsburg State in serving aces, with 21 total this season. Jordan Rehm leads Pittsburg State in digs, and averages 4.47 digs per set. Paula Okrutna has the most blocks on the team, with 87 total, and 0.78 per set.
