The Jennies defense held the top-half of the inning, allowing no runs to score and give them the chance to win the game in the bottom of the inning. The final play sequence began when Groeger singled up the middle, reaching first base with no outs. Prater then flied out to left field but Norberg sent another single through the middle of the field the next at bat, advancing Groeger to second with one out. Katie Groves (Bluffdale, Utah) then popped out to third base bringing up Young, who hit the winning play with two outs, sealing the 4-3 victory for the Jennies.
